Man shot, killed while riding with friends

STOCKTON - An 18-year-old man was killed late Saturday night, one of five male friends in a truck that was fired on multiple times in south Stockton.

The shootings took place shortly before midnight, police said. The deceased man was shot once in the back while sitting in the rear seat of the truck. He was driven by his friends to San Joaquin County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

A loaded handgun was found in the victims' truck, and a revolver with expended shells was found under the front passenger seat of the vehicle, police said.

Police were continuing to investigate the shooting Sunday. They did not provide any suspect information and did not release the identity of the fatally wounded victim.
