SAN ANTONIO -
The family of a 23-year-old woman who died after collapsing at Cowboys Dancehall early Thursday morning is hoping to get some answers about her death.
Angela Castillo was pronounced dead at Northeast Baptist Hospital at 1:46 a.m.
Witnesses reported seeing Castillo just fall on the dance floor for no particular reason. Several paramedics and a registered nurse at the dance hall stepped in to help.
"We were able to do a better assessment outside and we had a pulse and then lost it," said Amanda Lubrecht, a registered nurse. "So we started CPR," Lubrecht said she was unresponsive.
According to a police report, Castillo had taken a couple of shots of tequila before she got to the club and then had a couple of beers. The report further states she had just starting taking diet pills.
Family members said Angela had just graduated from Texas A&M and was working with the elderly.
"She'll totally be missed by everybody," said Lucy Ab. "I've been trying to help the family with all the arrangements. This is an awful tragedy."
Angela's mother, Cynthia Castillo, added her daughter had a history of asthma and that she had just had dental work done that day, but she still wants answers.
"If anybody has seen anything, call and let us know what you've seen," said Castillo.
