Willow Smith’s Mission In Life Is To Let Your Kids Know They Don’t Have To Listen To You Or Anyone Else

n case you missed it, Willow Smith‘s “long awaited” debut album finally has a name and a release date.

The album, due out in April, is titled “Knees and Elbows.” And during a recent interview, Willow explained what she’s trying to do with it.

“It’s gonna make them feel like they have control over their lives and can do what they want to do and be the person they want to be,” she said Wednesday night.

Remind your kids not to take that statement too literally until they’re bringing home Willow Smith checks, m’kay?

Maybe she just didn’t explain the message as eloquently as possible though. Because the reason behind the album’s actual title is all types of warm and fuzzy.

The title ties in to her theme of inspiration: “Everybody falls down and scrapes their knees and elbows but they eventually get back up,” she said.

And just in case you’re one of those people who “don’t like this lil’ girl ’cause she’s too grown,” here’s a little extra preciousness for you.

Willow said she and her famous family will be vacationing for the holidays. But she’s not anxious about a Christmas gift.

“I have everything I need. I have my mom, my dad, my brothers, my family; I have bunch of people that I work with that are awesome, that’s pretty much what I want to keep,” she said
