Man Strikes Girlfriend With Machete After She Declines Threesome: Police
They say love hurts, but a southwest Florida man apparently thought not loving should hurt, too.
50-year-old Daniel Cherenfant is accused of threatening and striking his girlfriend with a machete after she refused to engage in a threesome, the Naples Daily News reports.
Collier County Sheriff's deputies say Cherenfant and the victim were "partying and possibly smoking marijuana and crack cocaine" inside his auto body shop when the woman said he demanded she have sex with him and another person, the Daily News said.
When she refused and tried to leave, she told police, Cherenfant struck her in the head with the handle of the machete and then placed the blade against her neck and body before running out of the building, the paper reports.
The victim said she followed Cherenfant outside and tried to throw a rock at him because she was angry, the Daily News reports, at which point Cherenfant hit her in the face several times and ran to his house across the street.
He was arrested Saturday at home and charged with misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Court records show Cherenfant posted a $17,500 bond on Sunday.
