Sadly, El Debarge sold his (DeBarge) publishing rights (for pennies) early in his career. Due to this misstep, El is missing out on $500,000-$1,000,000 per year in revenue. El wrote "Love Me In A Special Way," "All This Love," and he co-wrote "Time Will Reveal," and "I Like It."
Before Clifton Davis became a minister, he was a notorious playboy. He had a different woman for every day of the week. Davis used to party all night, every night. He was often spotted in Malibu, rolling in his convertible Mercedes.
He made an astonishing disclosure in the 70's: "I'm strictly career minded, my playboy days are over, I've hooked up with a sexy flight attendant." After they broke up, he went back to his playboy ways.
He changed his lifestyle after becoming a minister. He also married and fathered two children.
Davis invested his money well and continues to receive publishing royalties for the song "Never Can Say Goodbye."
. Raised in Akron, Ohio, Howard Hewett moved to Los Angeles. He would eventually meet Soul Train dancer and future first wife Rainey Riley-Cunningham, a secretary of the show's creator and original host Don Cornelius. It was he who introduced Hewett to fellow Soul Train dancers Jody Watley and Jeffrey Daniel, and their group, Shalamar, was born.
Howard Hewett co-wrote one of Shalamar's biggest hits: "This Is For The Lover In You." The song was remade by Babyface and the royalties doubled. Hewett also wrote "Show Me."
Hewett and his wife (Angela) live comfortably in Los Angeles.
2. Does Peabo Bryson have commitment issues? We all know that he was engaged to Juanita Leonard several times. He also became engaged to Angela Thigpen, former Miss Virginia Teen USA and later a model/actress. This engagement was also called off.
