One of the Sweet Inspirations (Myrna Smith-above) said Elvis Presley gave her a $30,000 diamond ring and she turned it down. Smith sung backup for Elvis until he died and traveled with the Bee Gee's after his death.

Smith was closest to Elvis because she was the girlfriend of Presley's bodyguard. During a concert with Presley, the other two Sweet Inspirations (including Cissy Houston) stormed off stage, Smith stayed and Elvis tried to reward her with the diamond ring (due to her loyalty). Till this day, the remaining Sweet Inspirations refuse to discuss the matter
