Police Release Surveillance Tape That Shows Shocking Bar Shooting
f a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video - in this case - could be worth a conviction.
The Redlands police department has released the below surveillance video from a deadly altercation outside of local bar Charlie Jewel's on Saturday night. The victim, 22-year old Kruze Kuaea, was involved in a scuffle outside of the bar in which he punched a man, immediately knocking him to the ground. Moments later, shots blasted through the air and Kuaea was shot.
According to LomaLinda Patch, Kuaea "died at 2 a.m. Another 22-year-old man was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for surgery. His condition was still unknown. A 23-year-old man was hurt but was expected to survive, said Carl Baker public information officer for Redlands Police."
KTLA reminds us how rare it is to see a murder caught on tape. Redlands police hope that by publicizing this video, someone might be able to identify the shooter and those who seemed to be affiliated with him. "It was a senseless killing," Kuaea's mother Maricia told KTLA. "He was 22-years-old. He had his whole life ahead of him."
The LA Times reports that "the gunman is described as a Latino in his early 20s. He's about 5 feet 7 and weighs about 150 pounds."
