This is so sad… The death toll continues to mount in this N.C. case. Yesterday two children died, in the case of the North Carolina woman who went on a destructive death spree after being spurned by her married lover.

A North Carolina woman’s weekend shooting rampage through her family has claimed the life of her second son, law enforcement authorities said Tuesday.

Zachary Lee Smith, 14, died late Monday after being shot by his mother, the Guilford County Sheriff’s office said.

Authorities say 36-year-old Mary Ann Holder killed herself after shooting her two sons and three other children in the head Sunday. The sheriff’s department says Holder’s nephew and her older son’s girlfriend remained in critical condition.

Holder’s shooting spree inside her home in the Pleasant Garden community south of Greensboro took the life of her son, 17-year-old Robert Dylan Smith, and Holder’s niece, Hannaleigh Suttles, 8. Robert Smith’s girlfriend, Makayla Woods, 15, and Holder’s nephew, Richard Suttles, 17, were also shot inside the home and were in critical condition Tuesday.

Zachary Smith was found mortally wounded in the backseat of Holder’s SUV, where she also killed herself.

About an hour earlier, Holder shot her married former lover. Randall Lamb, 40, was in stable condition after being shot in the shoulder.

They’re now saying that Lamb’s wife threatened to file an “alienation of affection” lawsuit against Holder but they settled out of court. They say that may have been a motive. Whatever it was, this woman surely went off the deep end.
