George Michael Hospitalized With Pneumonia, Cancels Multiple Shows
In the weeks leading up to the annual inundation of Wham's holiday ode 'Last Christmas,' the band's former singer George Michael has been hospitalized with pneumonia. His publicist revealed that the singer is undergoing treatment in a Vienna hospital.
On Monday, Nov. 21, the 48-year-old Michael called off a concert in the Austrian capitol just two hours before he was set to go on stage and canceled his Nov. 23 show in Strasborg, France.
"With great regret, George Michael has been forced to postpone his November 26 and 27 shows in Cardiff, Wales, due to his ongoing illness," a statement on his site reads.
"George was recently forced to postponed tour dates in Vienna and Strasbourg under doctor's orders after being diagnosed with pneumonia. He is currently receiving treatment. Plans to reschedule these postponed tour dates will be provided when available."
Michael is in the midst of his orchestral "Symphonica Tour," which could continue into 2012 due to high ticket demand. Michael's next scheduled show is on Nov. 30 in Liverpool.
