Since 1971, numerous known cases of kidnapping, sexual assault and murder have happen along Interstate 45 in Texas. Some of the victims have disappeared never to be seen again, some are skeletons by the time they are discovered, very few are found. Most often the victims have been dumped in fields, parks and bodies of water. Because of the lack of communication between the jurisdictions and the inconclusive links of the cases involved. Media reports are scarce. The murder spree of serial killers along I-45 is as perplexing as it is frightening.

1970's Victims

Colette Wilson - Age 13, Caucasian. She was dropped off by a Band Leader at a bus stop in Alvin on June 17, 1971. She disappeared, then her nude body was found close to I-10 and highway 6. Near Addicks Reservoir in west Houston, some 35 to 40 miles from where last seen 5 months earlier. She had been killed by a gunshot to head and her band instrument was never located. The remains of Colette Wilson were found within 35 yards from where the body of 19 year old Gloria Gonzales was later discovered

Brenda Jones - Age 14, brunette. Disappeared while walking to Galveston hospital, close to I-45 to visit an aunt on July 1, 1971. Her body was found the next day floating in nearby Galveston Bay, close to the Seawolf Parkway and near I-45. She had a slip crammed in her mouth and died of a head wound.

Gloria Gonzales - Age19, brunette. She disappeared on October 28, 1971 near her home in Houston. Her body was found near Addick's Reservoir in west Houston, within 35 yards from where the body of Colette Wilson had been discovered months earlier. She died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Alison Craven - Age 12, Caucasian. Her mother returned home from after running errands for 1 hour on November 9th 1971. Her daughter was missing from their apartment near I-45. Police later found partial remains in a nearby field, two hands along with bones from an arm and some teeth. On Feb 25, 1972 the rest of her skeleton was found in a Pearland field, also near I-45 and 5 to10 miles from where she was last seen.

Debbie Ackerman - Age 15, Caucasian, brunette. Ball High School students Debbie Ackerman and Maria Johnson both from Galveston, they went to shop for gifts at a Galveston mall. Both disappeared on November 11, 1971 and they were found dead two days later. 10 miles north of where they disappeared, close to I-45 and Highway 3. They were in Turner's Bayou in Texas City where fishermen saw them floating, both girls were shot twice before being dumped in the water. Their hands and feet bound and both were only partially clothed.

Kimberly Pitchford - Age 16, Caucasian. Last seen at a driving school in Pasadena near I-45 on January 3, 1973. She was supposed to call home for ride but the call never came. Her strangled cadaver was found two days later in a ditch near Angleton near the 288 highway, about 30 miles south of where she was last seen. Her uncle Ray Pitchford, said a possible serial killer was known to have attended the school about the same time. However, nothing has ever come of his statement and the authorities still deem the case unsolved.

Georgia Geer - Age 14, Caucasian, brunette. Brooks Bracewell and Georgia Geer had skipped school on September 6, 1974. Both disappeared from a convenience store in Dickinson, close to I-45. Both had been beaten to death and found in an Alvin Swamp.

Karen Pretty - Age 28, Caucasian, dark hair. Robert Pretty came home in north Houston from his job on May 10, 1978. He found breakfast half eaten on the table and heard water dripping in the front bathroom. He found the bodies of his sons, Scott 7 and Mark 5 in the bathtub, he pulled them from the water. His wife was in the master bathroom, she had been strangled with a phone cord. Her hands and feet were bound with phone cord and she was submerged under water in the bathtub. She was still wearing her floral bathrobe and had not been sexually assaulted. The children were still in their pajamas and they were not sexually molested either. Scott was strangled with the bare hands of the assailant and drowned face first into the tub of water. Mark was strangled and drowned in the same fashion as his brother but he had also been beaten. The house had not been robbed and only one drawer was opened according to the police. Their car, a 1978 Mercury Marquis was found in an unassigned parking spot at an apartment at 198 Goodson Drive. The case is remains unsolved and the perp(s) motive(s) unknown.

1980's Victims

Unknown Doe - Age about 14 to17, Caucasian, brunette. Dumped on I-45 about five miles north of Huntsville on November 1, 1980. She was nude, had been strangled with panty hose and had human bites on her body. Described as 5'4" tall, 110 pounds. A truck driver found her body.

Tamara Ellen McCurry - Age 22, Caucasian, brunette, brown eyes. Disappeared in Galveston after being seen getting into an orange or yellow van on July 1, 1982.

Heidi Villerial Fye - Age 23, Caucasian, brunette. First victim found in the "Killing Fields" case.

Sandra Ramber - Age 14, Caucasian, brunette, brown eyes. Disappeared on October 26, 1983 form her house in Santa Fe, Texas. A small town close to League City and Friendswood. The case has been determined to be foul play and she is still a missing person. Her father reported her missing after he found the doors unlocked. Biscuits were cooking in the kitchen, her new coat and her purse were where she left them. She had just completed modeling school and wanted to become a model.

Jane Doe - Age ?, Caucasian, brunette. Second victim found in the "Killing Fields" case, for more information push HERE.

Laura Lynn Miller - Age 16, Caucasian, brunette. Third victim found in the "Killing Fields" case, for more information push HERE.

Headless Woman - Age ?. April, 1986 police recover a headless body from a garbage bag in a state park in Galveston, the body remains unidentified.

Shelley Kathleen Sikes - Age 19, Caucasian, brunette, brown eyes. The University of Texas student who was home for the summer, was last seen just before midnight May 24, 1986. She left her summer job at Gaido's restaurant for her Texas City home but never made it. Her car was found on I-45's northbound feeder road, just north of the Causeway. In the deep mud just north of the Santa Fe overpass, the car was blood spattered and the driver's window smashed. Her body was never recovered, but Bayview resident John Robert King and El Lago resident Gerald Peter Zwarst later were convicted of aggravated kidnapping, the most severe charge prosecutors could pursue without a body, in the case.

Laurie Lee Tremblay - Age 15. One of Anthony Allen Shore's strangulation victims, killed September 26, 1986. She was last seen alive walking from her family's apartment to the bus stop, her body was later found behind a restaurant. Shore once reportedly lived in League City, the Galveston city where the infamous "Killing Fields" are located. Where 4 other victims have were discovered between 1983 and 1991.

Michelle Doherty Thomas - Age 17, Caucasian, brunette. Still missing, she was last seen leaving her Alta Loma home to meet friends on October 5, 1985.

Erica Ann Garcia - Age 14, Hispanic, brunette. June 7, 1987 she disappeared from teen club in Houston. Found behind nearby vacant building, she had been strangled to death

Suzanne Rene Richerson - Age 22, Caucasian, brunette. Worked as a night clerk at Casa Del Mar Condominiums in Galveston, Texas where she was last seen on October 7, 1988 at approximately 6:00 a.m. Another employee was sleeping in the room above Richerson's office and awoke to a scream, then a car door slam from the parking lot and another scream before the car drove away. The last people to see her were the security guards who got off duty at 6 a.m. She left behind her purse, school books and car. One of her shoes was found in the parking lot but she is still missing. On July 31, 2002, suspect Gabriel Soto age 39 died from an apparent from an overdose of drugs. Soto was never charged in this case but investigators said they believed he played a role in Richerson's disappearance.

Another Jane Doe - Age between 14-19, brunette. Discovered in a wooded area on the east side of Houston on September 19, 1989. Described as between 5'2" and 5'5" and between 110 and 130 lbs. Cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and estimated time of death 1 to 3 months.

1990's Victims

Janet Doe - Age ?, Caucasian, brunette. Fourth victim found in the "Killing Fields" case.

Maria Del Carmen Estrada - Age 21, Hispanic, brunette.One of Anthony Allen Shore's strangulation victims, killed in April 1992. Estrada was last seen when she left her home to walk to work. Her body was found hours later in the drive through lane of a Dairy Queen restaurant. Shore once reportedly lived in League City, the Galveston city where the infamous "Killing Fields" are located. Where 4 other victims have were discovered between 1983 and 1991.

Trellis Sykes - Age 16 Abducted on way to school in Houston on May 13, 1994. Found later that same day in a field murdered.

Diana Rebollar - Age 9, brunette. One of Anthony Allen Shore's strangulation victims, killed August 7, 1994. Her mother had sent her to a near by convenience store to buy sugar. Diana's body was found behind a vacant building at 1440 North Loop West. She had been raped, beaten and strangled. Shore once reportedly lived in League City, the Galveston city where the infamous "Killing Fields" are located. Where 4 other victims have were discovered between 1983 and 1991.

Dana Sanchez - Age 16, Hispanic, brunette. One of Anthony Allen Shore's strangulation victims, killed in July 6, 1995. She was last seen talking to her boyfriend on a pay phone at West Cavalcade Street. She told him she planned to hitchhike to his home but never arrived. Her body was found in North View Park on July 14. She had been raped, beaten and strangled. Shore once reportedly lived in League City, the Galveston city where the infamous "Killing Fields" are located. Where 4 other victims have were discovered between 1983 and 1991.

Lynette Bibbs - Age 14. Disappeared with friend Tamara Fisher from teen club in Houston on February 1, 1996. Left dumped on side of rural road near Cleveland, Texas, two days later. Partially clothed and shot twice in back of head and once in the thigh.

Tamara Fisher - Age 15. Last seen with friend Lynette Bibbs at Houston teen club on February 1, 1996. Left dumped on side of rural road near Cleveland, Texas. Fully clothed and murdered by gunshot wound to the head.

Krystal Jean Baker - Age 13, Caucasian, blonde, dark eyes. Disappeared on March 5, 1996 from Convenience Store in Texas City where she used the phone. In hopes for a ride to a friends house in Bayou Vista, which is a short distance from there. Her body was found a few hours later under the I-10 Bridge over the Trinity River in Chambers County. She had been strangled, beaten, sexually assaulted and killed by ligature strangulation. Her face was badly beaten. Closest highway from where she was last seen is I-45, Hwy 3 and Hwy 146 which goes along Bay toward where body was found miles away. Marilyn Monroe, Norma Jean Baker was Krystal's great aunt.

Teen Girl (Abducted) - Age 13. March 1996 a man who abducted her at gunpoint as she was walking home from a shopping center. She leaped out of his truck in 200 block of East Fairmont in La Porte, Texas. A police officer just happen to drive by the truck witnessed the girl falling out of the truck. The pickup truck is a late mode Ford Ranger, green with suspect as 35-45, 6 ft or 6'2", with graying black hair and beard. The truck was never seen before or after this incident.

Laura Kate Smither - Age 12, Caucasian, brunette. The aspiring ballerina disappeared April 3, 1997 while jogging near her home in Friendswood, Texas near I-45. Seventeen days later her body was found at the edge of a retention pond in Pasadena near I-45. She was nude except for one sock and a ring, her head was decapitated. A dark colored pickup was observed in same area as where last seen and composite sketch of person in truck. When Smither's body was found in the Pasadena retention pond, investigators took notice of some obvious similarities between her abduction and death and that of 9 year old Amber Hagerman in Arlington, Texas 3 months earlier. Both girls' bodies were dumped in waterways, nude except for their socks. It could not be conclusively determined if the two cases are related or not. However, sex offender William Lewis Reece is the prime suspect in Laura Smither and Jessica Cain deaths but did he do it? Information, including allegations of evidence tampering, surfaced. The autopsy report indicated that African American hairs found on the girl's body were contaminants and that did not come from the crime scene. Note the Amber Hagerman death, then also note the abduction of Sandra Sapaugh and the disappearance of Jessica Cain.

Sandra Sapaugh (Abducted) - Dark complexion, brunette. She was fixing a flat on NASA Road 1 in Webster, across I-45 from Friendswood on May 16, 1997. When she says William Lewis Reece was the man who kidnapped her by pulling a knife on her and forced her into his truck. He ordered her to undress but she opened the passenger door and jumped out of the fast moving truck. Reece was charged with aggravated kidnapping of Sapaugh. Reece is also a suspect in the murder of Laura Smither and the disappearance of Jessica Cain.

Jessica Lee Cain - Age 17, Caucasian, brunette. Still missing after leaving friends at a Bennigan's restaurant in Webster about 2 a.m. on August 17, 1997. Two hours later her truck was found along I-45 in La Marque, there was no signs of struggle and her truck was operational. Witnesses saw her walking from her parked truck towards a red Isuzu Amigo that was stopped behind her truck.

Tina Flood - Age 23, Caucasian, blonde. November 29, 1998 a police officer pulled over Jonathan David Drew and found Flood beaten and barely alive in his front passenger seat. A waitress, she had befriended Drew at a night club. She died days later and he was convicted for her death. Drew is also suspected of several sexual assaults and it is speculated he could be responsible for the slaying of Jessica Lee Cain. A search of his former home in League City, where his parents still lived produced a vial containing several human teeth. League City is the Galveston city where the infamous "Killing Fields" are located. Where 4 other victims have were discovered between 1983 and 1991. Though his age would not match the time line of the "Killing Fields" murders but he did rape other women in the area.

Wanda May Pitts - Age 18, Caucasian, blonde. January 17, 1999 was at work the lobby desk at the Lodge Motel in Shenandoah. A job she had for about two months and she did not have a car. William Ray Mathews a drifter abducted her, took her to one of the motel rooms where he sexually assaulted her before strangling her to death. He couldn't recall where he had put her body but about a year later her remains where found off an abandon gated drive way.

Tracy Vickery (Abducted) - Caucasian, brunette. Weeks after Wanda May Pitts had vanished, Mathews attempted to abduct Vickery from the office where she sold mobile homes. The Country Time Mobile Homes just happened to located on the other side of I-45 from the Lodge Motel. He came in with a briefcase, sat down and wrote her a note. She was to do what he said because he had a gun and would kill her if she did not. He forced Vickery into his truck, then he drove off down I-45 with her but she leap from his moving truck. He tried to pull her back in by her hair but he couldn't, she got away and ran to the Gulf Cost Trades Center to save herself.

Amber Hagerman - Age 9, Caucasian, brunette, brown eyes. The Amber Alert is named after Amber Hagerman, this national program is dedicated to all children nationwide who’ve been abducted. On January 1996, she was riding her bicycle in a parking lot near her home. A neighbor heard her scream, then saw a man pull her off her bike, throw her into the front seat of his dark pickup truck and drive away at a high speed. January 17, 1996 Amber’s body was found in a drainage ditch located by apartments which are located on Green Oaks Blvd a short distance west of Highway 360 in Arlington, Texas. She had been sexually assaulted and her throat had been cut multiple times with a knife. Like in the case of Laura Smither, both girls were nude except for socks. If the two cases are related cannot be conclusively determined. Though the prime suspect in Smither's death is William Lewis Reece, a known sex offender.

2000's Victims

Tot Tran Harriman - Age 57, Asian, black streaked with gray, brown eyes. Height: 4ft., 11in.Weight: 130. Disappeared July 12, 2001 from: League City, Texas. Left League City to drive to Corpus Christy, TX. but has not been seen since. She departed at approximately 5:00 AM on July 12, 2001 from her son's residence said goodbye to her son and drove away in her 1995 rose quartz Lincoln Continental, with Florida rear license plate. A Navy Seal emblem where the front plate is normally affixed. Circumstances of this case indicate that foul play is possible.

Sara Trusty - Age 23, Caucasian, blonde. Last seen in Algoa near her church riding her bicycle around 11 PM on July 12, 2002. The bike was found in foyer of church the next day but she was gone. Her body was discovered on July 28, 2002 in a dike in Texas City.

Laura Ayala - Age 13, Hispanic, brunette. Missing since March 10, 2002 when she went to a near by convenience store to pick up a news paper for a school project. Walter Alexander Sorto, Edgardo Rafael Cubas and Eduardo Navarro have not been charged with her death. However, her DNA was discovered in a SUV owned by Cubas' father.

Maria Isabel Solis - Age 16, Hispanic, brunette. She was last seen getting off of city bus near her school, students and nearby motel manager heard screams. Missing until a body was recovered in a wooded area near Sugar Land, Texas, on August 13, 2003. The body was discovered near a closed U.S. 59 turnaround at the Brazos River, about 20 miles southwest of Houston.Due to forensic laboratory backlogs she remained unidentified until February 9, 2005.

Teen Girl (Terrorized) - July 29, 2004 a northwest Houston teen girl stranded on a southwest Houston freeway was stranded with a flat tire on the West Loop near Interstate 10. A man she believed was a tow-truck driver offered to help, he changed her tire and then tried to sexually assault her. The girl said she managed to escape by stabbing the man in the torso and shoulder with a pocket knife. The attacker has a tall, bald, clean-shaven man with a tattoo of a spider web on his left shoulder. He was driving a faded black, older model Chevrolet pickup with "Super Tow" painted in white letters on the side.

Natasha Nicole Solidum - Age 30, Caucasian, brunette, 5-foot-5, weighing about 135 pounds. On February 23, 2006 a brother and sister were walking their dog on the beach near the Flagship Hotel in the 2400 block of Seawall Boulevard shortly after 11 a.m. A woman began shouting at them about something floating in the surf and at first one of them thought it was a mannequin. The woman’s body was clad in black sweat pants, light-blue Asics running shoes with white ankle socks, a red, hooded sweatshirt and she still had her sunglasses on. She carried no identification but her body bore a distinct mark, a tattoo of a ring of flowers around her navel. Her body had probably only been in the water for about an hour because it was still warm and rigor mortis had not set in. An autopsy showed that a single gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators combed the area near 24th Street and Seawall with special metal detectors to try to find evidence. Solidum, 30, was an elementary school teacher in the Alief Independent School District. The Flagship Hotel jets out over the surf, close to where I-45 ends on Galveston Island.

narmed 18 Year-Old Ervin Jefferson Shot To Death By Security Guards Outside His Atlanta Home!

The family of 18-year-old Ervin Jefferson is grieving, aching for police to investigate the two men who shot and killed Ervin outside the family’s home Saturday night.

Police are saying that the killers are two private security guards.

Ervin’s mother is insisting her son was unarmed. She wants the killers arrested and prosecuted.

11Alive News has not yet been able to contact the security guards for their descriptions of what happened.

“Why do you think your son was shot?” asked 11Alive’s Jon Shirek.

“He was trying to protect us,” said Ervin’s mother, Candy Grimes.

Family and friends of Ervin Jefferson, who himself was already the father of a baby girl, said Ervin was trying to protect his family late Saturday night.

He ran outside their home on Pleasantwood Drive, off of I-20 and Wesley Chapel Road just outside the Perimeter. He was unarmed, they said, as he ran toward a crowd of people who had driven up in at least two cars, threatening his sister.

“We heard gunshots,” Candy Grimes said through her tears. “I seen the dude in the green shirt shoot my son. I seen the guy, he had two hands, and he shot my son.”

Grimes said that as soon as her son was shot, someone else drove a car into him.

“By the time I got down there, the car was on top of my son. He was literally under the car.”

Says Ervin’s mother Candy Grimes:

“One of them shot him, and one of them ran over him. It’s two of y’all. He’s little. He little. Why y’all just didn’t beat him up, jump on him, why you just didn’t fight him, why you have to shoot him? I just want justice. That’s all I want, I just want justice. He was trying to protect us.”

The case of a 54-year-old black man from Council Grove who suffered burns when white intruders ignited him after pouring rubbing alcohol on him has been sent to federal prosecutors to be investigated as a possible "hate crime."

"The Morris County Attorney’s Office has been in contact with the United States Attorney’s Office (and) is referring this case to them for investigation regarding the possibility of this being a hate crime," Morris County Attorney Laura Allen said in a statement issued Monday afternoon.

Sterling Law, 54, had been at his home for four days without treatment for the burns suffered on Oct. 7 before his boss became suspicious when Law called in sick Oct. 11.

"He never does that," Doug Wilkerson said. Wilkerson is the owner of the Hays House, where Law has worked for more than 30 years. Law was in a lot of pain when Wilkerson went to his home to check on him.

"I was appalled, speechless, mad, upset that someone would even do something like that to someone," Wilkerson said.

Wilkerson took Law to the Morris County Medical Center to get treatment for his burns, then to the Council Grove Police Department to report the incident.

The defendant, Issac Wilson, 23, who was arrested Sunday in the burning of Law, made his first appearance in Morris County District Court on Monday on charges he burned Law after breaking into his home.

Wilson, formerly of Council Grove, remained in the Morris County Jail on Monday.

Allen, the Morris County attorney, said Wilson is charged with aggravated battery of Law and aggravated burglary of Law's residence.

In another case, Wilson is charged with aggravated battery and making a criminal threat, both to a different victim, Allen said.

On Monday, Wilson remained in custody in lieu of a $50,000 bond on the case tied to Law and a $15,000 bond on the second case, a jail official said Monday. The bonds total $65,000.

Wilson is to appear at a preliminary hearing in Morris County District Court, Allen said.

Glenn Law said two men, who had a pit bull with them, "somehow" entered his brother's house through the front door while he was asleep. The residence ordinarily is locked.

"They rushed in and woke him," Glenn Law said. "They caught him off guard."

The two covered his pants with rubbing alcohol, then lit the liquid with a lighter, Glenn Law said.

Sterling Law "dropped and rolled" to extinguish the flames when the alcohol ignited, suffering second-degree burns on his stomach and upper legs, Glenn Law said.

Sterling Law didn't get medical treatment or report the break-in and attack to law enforcement officers because the intruders told him they would retaliate if he did, his brother said.

Glenn Law described his younger brother as a quiet and "submissive" individual who grew up in Council Grove.

Sterling Law is unable to work, and his supervisor and his wife are aiding the injured man by changing his bandages.

To aid his injured brother, Glenn Law drove from his home in Oakland, Calif., to Council Grove, arriving about 6 a.m. Monday.

A 33-year-old man is dead after being shot and run over while filming a rap video in North Philadelphia.

It happened at Fifth and Somerville Avenue in Olney just after 7 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators tell Fix 29 the man was shot in the head in front of 100 people. Shortly after being shot, the man was run over by a car that was trying to get away from the gunfire.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Cops say three gun-wielding men were arrested and one has been identified as the shooter.

“Police witnessed and heard the shots,” police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. “They immediately gave out descriptions and flash information. Three suspects were immediately taken into custody. All three had firearms. One of those three suspects was positively identified by witnesses as the shooter.”

Thursday afternoon at a press conference, the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense circulated a “wanted dead or alive” poster for George Zimmerman for shooting to death a Florida teenager four weeks ago.

Zimmerman, a self-proclaimed neighborhood watch captain said he accosted what he alleges was a suspicious looking black male walking through his neighborhood. He further contends the man punched him, and bloodied his nose, so Zimmerman fired a gun shot striking the man in the chest. The “man” was 17 year old Trayvon Martin, who would lie in the county morgue three days before police alerted his parents of their child’s death.

Minister Mikhail Muhummud led the press conference, calling for the firing of Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, the arrest of George Zimmerman and some involvement from President Obama. Muhummud stated he is the southern regional director for the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense located in Jacksonville, Florida. While Minister Muhummud fired off a list of demands and expressed outrage over the handling of the shooting and subsequent investigation; a member of the group passed flyers to about 100 people who showed up for the press conference. Muhummud told the group he was not concerned with rumors of death threats to George Zimmerman, “He should be afraid for his life…”

Muhummud said “I’m here today to appeal to the country, particularly President Obama to do the right thing while you have the power.” He said that “Trayvon Martin “symbolizes my son.”

President Obama had not addressed the issue, but had advised the Justice Department to open an investigation into the case. This morning following Muhummud’s press conference, President Obama spoke about the case for the first time publicly. He echoed the sentiments of Muhummud saying “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon…”

When the group started chanting “Black Power,” Ms. Adele Azarucquoi, a white long time resident of Sanford shouted, “What about White people.”

Muhummud quickly said “We don’t hate any group. We hate injustice. We appreciate the whites who have come forth to help us.”

There were less than a dozen whites, not counting media, among the mostly African American crowd. “I hope there are more people who look like me at the next rally for Trayvon’s family,” Ms. Azarucquoi said.

After the news conference Ms. Azarucquoi told a journalist, “This heart of mine is sick when a kid gets killed because his skin is different from the skin of the guy who shoots him.”

She then requested that a journalist walk across the street with her to speak with Police Chief Bill Lee. Upon arrival at his office the receptionist said he wasn’t in the office then said “he hasn’t been in the office in several days.”

Later in the day Chief Lee announced he was temporarily stepping down.

Present at the news conference was Ms. Mildred Duprey de Robles, Conciliation Specialist for the United States Justice Department’s Office of Community Relations. Ms. Duprey de Robles declined to speak with the press other than to say she was there as an observer.

The Justice Department’s office of Community Relations is mandated to help negotiate peaceful resolutions to community problems. She appeared to have gotten an earful and left quickly when the press insisted on more communication from her.

Members of the public who came in support of the New Black Panther Party’s press conference were vocal in their outrage over the shooting and investigation. They called for the dismantling of “the good ole boy network.”

Pastor Paul Wright, whose 1000 member church, Calvary Temple Praises, is several blocks from the police department, dropped by the press conference. When asked about the “wanted dead or alive” poster Pastor Wright said, “I don’t agree with that. We don’t need to set a precedent that this is the way to resolve problems.”

Life is precious. That’s what this is all about, so it seems senseless to call for Zimmerman’s death, doesn’t it?

With an occasional stab against the record labels, as if they owed musicians a life. With a twisted turn towards Live Nation, as if Ticketmaster is responsible for all the world’s problems.

I’ll clue you in on something. The executives at the record labels and Live Nation are smarter than the artists. They realize we live in a country of winners and losers and they don’t want to end up with the short end of the stick. Ergo 360 deals and platinum packages and all kinds of ways to make the executives rich.

But none of them are as rich as the bankers.

And if you think record labels and Live Nation have power, you know nothing about how this country really works.

Fortune 100 companies have power. They’re abusing you and ripping you off as I type this. But today the artist’s goal is to suck up to the fat cats, suck some milk from the tit, get an endorsement, charge for a product placement, don’t you see you’re a tool of the system? That the owners of this country are laughing at you?

Artists have incredible power. But they need to use it to their advantage, they need to turn against the rich.

Artists are not rich.

Bankers are rich.

U2 toured for two years and made $750 million. Let’s call the net $400 million, which is way too high, but for the sake of argument, we’ll do it.

U2 splits the money five ways. The four band members and manager Paul McGuinness. That breaks down to $80 million apiece.

And U2 doesn’t pay taxes. Not any to speak of.

So that’s $40 million a year.

But it was more than two years worth of work.

And for the last half a year there’s been no touring income to speak of. And recording revenue has plunged. And if the band went back on the road right now, they’d have trouble selling out stadiums, business was a bit soft in the end. Hell, one can argue that U2 may never be able to sell out stadiums for two years again.

And U2 is the biggest band in the world.

But there are bankers who make $20 million a year, every year. Yup, year in and year out. There are so many people in finance and helming Fortune 100 companies who make eight figures it would make your head spin. And this is net. There are no managers, attorneys or high-priced accountants. How many artists make eight figures a year, year in and year out… ESSENTIALLY NONE!

Are you hearing me yet?

Artists can do one of two things. They can resign themselves to being second class citizens, minstrels who thrive on dope and sex and the fun of playing…

Or they can use their power to rally their audience for change.

Artists have power, far in excess of Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum or President Obama. They just don’t use it.

I’m not saying they’ve got to sing political songs. They just have to act in political ways.

The artists can stop the government and bankers cold, overnight, if they’d just realize they’re the enemy, not their friend. That by tearing down the wall separating the rich from the poor is how they make more money, not by tripping about their customers and Live Nation.

James DeBarge 2011 Arrest Details Revealed…

HSK Exclusive - Many of you watched the recent when the Dr. Drew’s CW network show re-broadcast the September 2011 episode, when James, Bunny, and Randy DeBarge appeared asking for help with their addictions.

Following the original appearance, all three DeBarge siblings went to a North Hollywood rehabilitation center. As noted following the re-broadcast, The former Mr. Janet Jackson, aka James DeBarge went AWOL shortly after checking into the rehab center. But, what was not revealed was that James DeBarge was arrested just a few hours later prostituting himself for drugs.

“Before James was popped on the gun charges he was whoring himself in the streets for crack and heroin. James was a mess! He never had any intention to get help, he needs much more than the typical rehabilitation. James has been selling his ass for drugs for years now.

The Rock & Roll Hall of FAME honors Kirk Franklin

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will honor Kirk Franklin in a tribute to rock’s gospel roots. Franklin will perform and various artists including Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin and church ensembles from across Cleveland will honor him through music. Special guest Daymond John will emcee. This event is free but a general admission ticket is necessary. Pepsi admits Aquafina comes from tap water

It's a great marketing gimmick: A bottle of water with a clean, blue label showing images of snow-capped mountains and the claim, "Pure water, perfect taste." That's the image created by Pepsico's Aquafina brand of water, and many consumers leap to the incorrect conclusion that Aquafina is sourced from mountain spring water.

In reality, Aquafina comes from tap water. Yes, the same water you get when you turn on your kitchen faucet. Of course, Aquafina is filtered, purified and perhaps even enhanced with trace amounts of added minerals, but it's certainly not mountain spring water. It's just processed tap water -- the same stuff that fills your toilet bowl when you flush.

Both the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) and the FDA believe there's really no need to require bottled water manufacturers to admit their products come from tap water. No surprise there -- both these organizations routinely act to protect the interests of powerful corporations, and when it comes to bottled water, the biggest companies are often those sourcing the lowest quality water (such as tap water).

This idea that consumers should not be informed their high-priced bottled water is really just filtered tap water is consistent with the aims of food, drug and beverage corporations, who almost universally agree that consumers should be given less information, not more, about the products they're swallowing. Over the last several decades, corporations have vigorously opposed truth in labeling laws and regulations, including those requiring the labeling of trans fatty acids, sodium content and even ingredients lists! (If the food corporations had their way, all ingredients would be considered "proprietary formulas" and not listed on the label at all.)

This bottled water issue brings to light the apparent deceptive practices of some of the largest suppliers of bottled water products. By avoiding the honest labeling of the source of their water while relying on snow-capped mountain imagery, these companies quietly mislead consumers into thinking their water products are from a pristine, natural source such as a mountain spring.

CAI pressures PepsiCo to tell the truth
PepsiCo only agreed to tell the truth on their bottled water labels after being pressured by Corporate Accountability International (CAI), a non-profit organization that helps protect consumers from corporate abuse. See their website at http://www.stopcorporateabusenow.org

CAI rallied consumers from around the world to complain to PepsiCo about the current labeling of Aquafina, and thousands of consumers slammed PepsiCo's phone lines so hard that the company was forced to shut down call center operations. CAI told NaturalNews that within 30 minutes after the call-to-action announcement went live, PepsiCo's consumer phone lines were no longer being answered and would not allow callers to leave voice mails. Pepsi executives reportedly held an emergency meeting and made a decision to add the phrase, "Public water source" to Aquafina labels.

Reluctantly admitting a small part of the truth
Even then, the phrase "public water source" isn't very descriptive. To some people, the phrase simply implies that Aquafina is itself a public water source. It's not the same as admitting, "Aquafina comes from tap water," which would be a far more honest way to label the product. But PepsiCo seems to have no interest in advertising the source of their Aquafina product, and my guess is that the "public water source" text on the label will be really small and difficult to read. It's much like the labeling of side effects of prescription drugs: They bury the bad news somewhere that most consumers won't ever look.

Aquafina is currently the top-selling bottled water brand in the United States. According to CAI, 4 out of 5 consumers now drink bottled water, and 1 out of 5 drink it as their sole water source! (Gee, that's a lot of plastic going to landfill, too...)

The bottles used to package bottled water are almost always made from plastics containing bisphenol-A (BPA), a carcinogenic chemical that often leaches into the water and gets swallowed by consumers. Click here to read our articles on BPA, a chemical widely believed to contribute to certain cancers. This contamination factor, however, is true for all products stored in plastic bottles, not merely water. Sports drinks, sodas, fruit drinks and even "healthy" smoothie drinks packaged in plastic all share a common risk of BPA contamination.

Bottled water vs. public water infrastructure
The widespread shift towards bottled water products is increasingly causing consumers to lose faith in public water infrastructure, which ultimately leads to public reluctance to support investment in public water supplies. This concerns many cities who are worried that a lack of public support will cause funding for water infrastructure to erode.

These people tend to describe treated municipal water as remarkably pristine and safe for human consumption. In my opinion, however, tap water should never be swallowed without filtering it, since tap water contains scary levels of toxic chemicals such as chlorine and fluoride, a dangerous water additive chemical often contaminated with arsenic. So I wouldn't drink from the public water supply in the first place, but neither do I rely on bottled water. I use a water filtration system to clean tap water before I drink it. (Coincidentally, this is similar to what PepsiCo does when creating Aquafina water, except PepsiCo uses plastic bottles, where I only drink out of glass or stainless steel.)

You can get clean public water in places like Hawaii, Oregon and anywhere that's close to the mountains, but most folks in first world nations are getting tap water that's far from pristine. The public water infrastructure in the U.S. may be among the best in the world, but that's not saying much. I won't even shower in U.S. public water without using a chlorine filter on my shower head. My view on PepsiCo
Since this story has much to do with PepsiCo, I thought I would offer my personal opinion on this corporation. In my opinion, PepsiCo is a highly destructive corporation that is partially responsible for obesity, diabetes, depression and bone disorders among hundreds of millions of people around the world. Through its aggressive (and deceptive, in my opinion) marketing campaigns, lack of corporate ethics and ready willingness to exploit human beings for profit, PepsiCo has risen to be one of the most financially profitable yet ethically bankrupt organizations on the planet.

If PepsiCo were to disappear from the face of the earth tomorrow, humanity would be healthier the very next day. PepsiCo's brands include: (followed by my opinion statement about that particular brand)

Frito-Lay: Dangerous junk food that contributes to obesity, heart disease, cancer, depression and other serious diseases.

Pepsi-Cola: Toxic beverages that destroy bone mineral density and poison consumers with chemical sweeteners in diet drinks.

Gatorade: Crap sports drinks that contain artificial colors made from petrochemical derivatives.

Tropicana: A low-end fruit juice brand engaged in deceptive labeling for many of its products.

Quaker: This is perhaps the only tolerable brand in the PepsiCo portfolio. Oatmeal is essentially good for you, although instant oats and all the sugars found in many oatmeal products make it a rather high-glycemic food that's not recommended for most people (especially diabetics or obese people).

Put it all together and you have a collection of some of the least healthy foods and beverages on the market today. When future historians examine today's epidemics of obesity and diabetes, they will no doubt scrutinize the role of companies like PepsiCo and Coca-Cola, both of which are partly to blame for modern disease epidemics. Both companies, by the way, continue to engage in routine marketing of junk foods and sodas to children.

Pepsico is a corporation that won't even list the acrylamide content in their fried foods. Nor will it publicly admit that high-fructose corn syrup has any link whatsoever to obesity. PepsiCo, in my opinion, is a corporation living in a deviant reality, unwilling to take responsibility for its role in poisoning the population through its toxic food and beverage products.

That's my personal opinion of PepsiCo, its brands and its products. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything made by PepsiCo. I have no desire to financially reward this company by purchasing its products. If anything, we should all be boycotting PepsiCo products (and Coca-Cola, for that matter) and getting our water from somewhere else.

When traveling through airports, of course, I am sometimes forced to buy Aquafina or Dasani, as nothing else is available. This is the only time you'll ever see me drinking out of a PepsiCo bottle.

If I were in charge around here, I would immediately ban all advertising of junk foods, sodas, snack foods, cigarettes, pharmaceuticals and other harmful substances. It's the only sane thing to do if we care about the future of our children. Of course, such advertising bans will never actually take place because corporations run the government. Pepsi's lawyers say Mountain Dew can dissolve a mouse

(NaturalNews) While drinking Mountain Dew, have you ever seen (or perhaps felt on your tongue) a thick, jelly-like substance? Maybe you assumed the ingredients in the soda had gelled. According to Mountain Dew manufacturer Pepsi, you may have been ingesting some extra protein with your beverage in the form of a liquified rodent.

Lawsuit results in unusual defense
An Illinois man is suing Pepsi, claiming he found a mouse in his can of Mountain Dew. Ronald Bell of Edwardsville, a small town near St. Louis, alleges there was a mouse in a can of soda he purchased and drank in 2009. Bell says he spit out the mouse and called the company to complain. At the soda manufacturer's request, he sent them the mouse corpse. Pepsi had a veterinary pathologist examine the body. Their scientific expert found the rodent could not have been in the can since the soda case was sealed in August 2008, and its body would have dissolved as a result of the acid in the soda.

Bell says that Pepsi destroyed the evidence in the case and is seeking judgment. Pepsi's legal team has moved to dismiss the case. Bell's suit initially also involved the owners of the convenience store chain where he purchased the beverage, but those defendants have been dropped from the case and an amended suit was filed. The trial was set to begin in late 2011; however a Madison County Circuit Court judge granted Pepsi another month to argue for dismissal.

Quench your thirst with some chemicals
NaturalNews has reported many times in the past on the health dangers of soda, including the fact that Mountain Dew and other fruit-flavored beverages contain a flame retardant chemical (http://www.naturalnews.com/034448_brominated_vegetable_oil_soft_drinks_chemical.html). The bright green color of this soda obviously derives from food colorings, many of which also have negative health consequences. Like many sodas, Mountain Dew derives its fizzy quality from phosphoric acid, a substance which health experts have long warned can destroy tooth enamel.

Now it appears that, in order to win a lawsuit, Pepsi has conducted its own animal testing on its products and is putting forth evidence that their soda causes organic tissues, as the legal brief states, to become a "jelly-like substance." One has to wonder whether, in the interest of protecting themselves from similar future lawsuits, their scientific experts put dead mice in containers in each of their beverage products to compare the rates of disintegration.

Let's hope that anyone who thinks drinking Mountain Dew is a relatively harmless dietary indulgence hears about this case and thinks twice before swigging some of the bright green beverage. If a mouse can become jelly over the course of the shelf-life of a can of soda, imagine what it can do to your body, especially if you drink this substance regularly over the course of several years. An early advertising slogan for Mountain Dew, back in the 1960s, was "Ya-Hoo Mountain Dew. It'll tickle you innards." Maybe Pepsi can revive this slogan, changing the word "tickle" to "dissolve." Or perhaps, given the soda's more recent marketing association with extreme sports, they can present mouse-chugging as a "wild" activity to fuel skateboarding achievement.
