Tameka Foster wants you to know that…
Tameka Foster is currently at home nursing her sick 2-year-old son back to health. We know that because she tweeted a pic of the child stretched out on a sofa today. She wants us to know that she’s a good mother. Or she could be posting pics of the baby in order to gain sympathy.
As you know, Foster, 45, has filed yet another legal action in the ongoing child custody dispute with her ex-husband, Usher Raymond, 33.
This time Foster, who still uses her ex-husband’s last name, seeks to strip Usher of his parental rights to their two boys. After TMZ broke the story this morning, Foster took to her Twitter page to grouse about the media coverage, and about her ex in particular.
“Haha I love how this guy manages to always be the victim. So masterful. Its amazing,” she tweeted. In another tweet, she wrote, “To play innocent victim? Oh. That’s crafty… & hilarious.”
But wouldn’t it be considered “crafty” to exploit your sick child on a social networking site to prove a point?

To the surprise of almost everyone, except Dr. Dre and his partners, Beats by Dre have redefined the lowly headphone, as well as how much people are willing to pay for a pair of them. A typical pair of Beats sell for about $300 — nearly 10 times the price of ear buds that come with iPods. And, despite these lean economic times, they are selling surprisingly fast.
Whether Beats are worth the money is open to debate. Reviews are mixed, but many people love them. The headphones are sleekly Apple-esque, which is no surprise, since they were created by a former designer at Apple. Beats also offer a celebrity vibe and a lot of boom-a-chick-a-boom bass.
So much bass, in fact, that some audio experts say that Beats distort the sound of the music.
“In terms of sound performance, they are among the worst you can buy,” says Tyll Hertsens, editor in chief of InnerFidelity.com, a site for audiophiles. “They are absolutely, extraordinarily bad.”
Time was, manufacturers marketed high-priced audio equipment by emphasizing technical merits like frequency response, optimum impedance, ambient noise attenuation and so on. The audience was mostly a small cadre of audiophiles tuned to the finer points of sound quality.
But, three years ago, Beats by Dr. Dre set out to change all that by appealing to more primal desires: good looks, celebrity and bone-rattling bass. Annual sales are approaching $500 million, and Beats have transformed headphones into a fashion accessory.

If you’re a black male, you probably own one of these sleek $300 headphones just because you will buy anything a celebrity endorses.
According to a music expert interviewed by The NY Times, the sexy headphones produce way too much bass, which distorts the music, and besides that, they suck.
“In terms of sound performance, they are among the worst you can buy,” says Tyll Hertsens, editor in chief of InnerFidelity.com, a site for audiophiles. “They are absolutely, extraordinarily bad.” Source
The Times article goes on to say that back in the day, manufacturers such as Bose “marketed high-priced audio equipment by emphasizing technical merits like frequency response, optimum impedance, ambient noise attenuation and so on.”
Nowadays a dude riding the bus doesn’t care about the sound quality of the headphones, as long as the big booty chick sitting one seat over sees him wearing the trendy headsets.

Is Mediatakeout.com On LL Cool J’s Payroll?
Earlier this year, HSK first told you of LL Cool J paying transgender Toni Newman for sex. Now, Newman says LL Cool J’s camp recently hired attorney Marty Singer and MTO’s Fred Mwangaguhunga to do damage control.
Here’s what Toni Newman’s people had to say:
“Fred of mediatakeout.com went on the nyc radio station 105.1 breakfast show in May and announced he had met Toni Newman in NYC and polygraphed her and she failed the polygraph test. In fact Fred has never spoke with Ms. Newman in person or on the phone and she has not been to nyc in 2011 and he never gave her a polygraph test.”
“After the interview Ms. Newman people contacted the radio station 105.1 and Fred of mediatakeout.com about the lies he spoke on the radio show.
Fred is to report the news and facts as he sees it not make up the news as he go along or lie about the news.”
Toni Newman believes LL Cool J’s manager, Claudine Joesph, paid off MTO’s Fred Mwangaguhunga — and I believe it. Know why? Because mediatakeout.com’s main source of information, Marvet Britto, will do anything if the price is right. Don’t believe me? Ask Stephon Marbury.
Toni Newman claims to have a list of of 40 celebrities proven to be gay or at least who had sex with transexuals. Don’t believe me? Ask Kobe Bryant.

Chuck D. Files $100 Mil Lawsuit Against Universal Music Group
Chuck D. of Public Enemy fame has filed a lawsuit against UMG (Universal Music Group). The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court in Northern California on November 2. Check D. is seeking $100 million is damages.
The lawsuit claims that UMG failed to provide a proper accounting for digital royalties, claimed by Chuck D. to be a “substantial amount of money.” Chuck also claims that UMG has failed to properly compensate him for the sales of digital downloads, as well as master ringtones.
The lawsuit is the latest in a series of legal actions filed against UMG group and other labels, since a groundbreaking ruling regarding digital royalty payments in September. That lawsuit was spearheaded by Eminem.
In that ruling, UMG lost a decision to FBT productions, which produced many of Eminem’s early recordings.
That ruling stated that FBT was entitled to a 50% royalty rate for a “Master License,” as opposed to their contractual rate, which called for 18% of every record sold.
The ruling was groundbreaking, because it was among the first decisions to address how royalty rates should be computed on emerging digital formats, versus traditional methods.
Other artists that have filed lawsuits since the ruling include Rob zombie and the estate of Rick James.
This is nothing new though, the major labels have been ripping off artists since day one. the artists have were complicit until their larger yet shorted checks started drying up. Play with fire and your bound to get burned. Don’t you agree
New Book Reveals Tyler Perry’s Past As A Drug Dealers Mule
Author Melvin Childs book “Never Would Have Made it: The Rise Of Tyler Perry” is exposing Tyler Perry’s past. Know why? Because author Melvin Childs was a mentor to Tyler Perry before he got rich and famous mane.
Here’s what Melvin Childs had to say:
“This is a behind-the-scenes look at how Tyler Perry became Tyler Perry… These are things I saw, things I did and conversations I had. Everything I am about to say happened. I know it. And Tyler knows it. Time to set the record straight.
Perry did risky deals with drug dealers, couriers carrying large bags of cash across the country, backstabbing and double-dealing with corrupt promoters, plus other illicit means to fund his early work.”
Didn’t Tyler Perry say that he was homeless and that he lived out of the backseat of his car? Of course he did, but Melvin Childs book tells another story and to tell you the truth it sounds like Childs and Perry are having a lovers quarrel. I’d like to know your thoughts on this subject matter.

"MAN IN WHEELCHAIR WITH CEREBRAL PALSY ACCUSED OF IMPREGNATING UNDERAGE GIRL"
Activists rightly tout the ability of the disabled to do just about anything. But don't expect them to use Steven Clark as a poster boy.
Clark, 33, who uses a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy, has been hit with several charges related to sexual abuse on a child -- the daughter of his caretaker. He reportedly engaged in non-consensual sex with the girl, now fifteen, over a series of years before impregnating her.
Read a release by the Denver District Attorney's Office below:

"FALSE STD RUMOR LEADS TO QUADRUPLE HOMICIDE"
Gossip. Sometimes people take it too far – and this rumor had deadly consequences.
Family and friends say a man killed three women in a car near a North Carolina business park before turning the gun on himself because of a rumor he had been exposed to a sexually transmitted disease (herpes).
Shooter Brinton Marcell Millsap (above) and one of the victims, Alexandria J. Baker Pierce had apparently had sex the weekend before…when rumors of Pierce infecting Millsap with herpes hit the wire.
Pierce, 23, a rising senior at UNC Greensboro, made an impromptu trip to Durham on Friday to tell Millsap in person that the report that she had given him a disease was not true, Baker said.
She left Greensboro in her green Honda Accord about 9 p.m. and picked up her friends, Amesha Alia Page-Smith, 24, and Adrianne Celeste Stevens, 22, both of Durham.
All three would later lie dead inside the car along a vacant stretch of N.C. 54 in Research Triangle Park. Durham County Sheriff Worth Hill said Millsap fatally shot the three women then shot himself once. The car and bodies were discovered just after midnight.
What makes this story so disturbing is the fact that a crime was committed over something that may have not been true.

Mercedes-Benz to kill Maybach in 2013
Riding in the lap of luxury is about to get a little more cramped: Mercedes will reportedly kill its super-high-end Maybach brand in 2013, according to company insiders who spoke with AutoWeek. The gold-colored void will be filled with a new, higher-end S-class.
The reason for the allegedly impending death of Maybach is, of course, lower than expected sales of the Maybach 57 and Maybach 62, each of which cost between $375,000 and $430,000, respectively. The company had originally hoped to sell at least 800 Maybach models a year. Last year, the company sold fewer than 200 Maybachs worldwide.
“We’ve come to the conclusion that it is better to cut our losses with Maybach than to continue into an uncertain future with a brand that has failed to live up to original sales expectations,” said AutoWeek’s source. “Plans are already in place to fill the void left by the axing of the Maybach 57 and 62 with the next-generation S-class, which will be offered in three wheelbase variations and six different body styles, including a top-of-the-range S600 Pullman.”
In contrast to the low-selling Maybach, Mercedes sells about 80,000 S-class models, which start at about $92,000, each year. Dieter Zetsche, chief executive of Mercedes-Benz’s parent company, Daimler AG, says he believes the company can double sales of the S-class line.
Despite the fate of Maybach, the ultra-luxury car market is far from struggling. Bentley and Rolls Royce have apparently had success by offering a number of lower-end models, which only put buyers out between $180,00 and $300,000 — a downright bargain, don’t you think?

Elsewhere In The Sick And Depraved World: Australian Lawmaker Walks FREE After Being Found GUILTY Of Sex With A 12 Year-Old And 162 Prostitutes!!!
And people think that the American justice system is bad…
A former Australian state lawmaker walked free from court Tuesday afternoon after being found guilty of having sex with a 12-year-old girl, The Mercury reported.
Justice David Porter sentenced Terry Martin to 10 months in jail, wholly suspended, after the former member of the Tasmanian Legislative Council was found guilty in a Hobart court of the underage sex charge and one count of producing child pornography.
During his trial earlier this month, Martin admitted spending AU$150,000 (US$151,000) on 162 different prostitutes in a two-year period before he was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a child in 2009.
The 54-year-old pleaded not guilty to the underage sex charge, saying he believed the 12-year-old girl he paid to have sex with was 18, as she was advertised in a newspaper at the time.
After he was arrested, Martin told police that a side effect of one of the drugs he had been prescribed for Parkinson’s Disease was hypersexuality.
In handing down the sentence, Justice Porter said he believed Martin would not have had sex with the girl had it not been for the medication, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.

A Black Friday shopper who collapsed while shopping at a Target store in West Virginia went almost unnoticed as customers continued to hunt for bargain deals.
Walter Vance, the 61-year-old pharmacist, who reportedly suffered from a prior heart condition, later died in hospital, reports MSNBC.
Witnesses say some shoppers ignored and even walked over the man's body as they continued to shop, reports the New York Daily News.
Friends and co-workers saddened to learn of his death, expressed outrage over the way he was treated by shoppers.
"Where is the good Samaritan side of people?" Vance's co-worker Sue Compton told WSAZ-TV.
"How could you not notice someone was in trouble? I just don't understand if people didn't help what their reason was, other than greed because of a sale."
Gawker points out there is no legal obligation to come to someone's rescue, only a moral one.
While some news organizations say that no one helped the collapsed man, his wife refuted this report.
Lynne Vance said six nurses shopping in the store came to her husband's rescue and performed CPR until paramedics arrived, notes the Sunday Gazette Mail.
This wasn't the only incident to taint America's biggest shopping day.
While one customer sprayed fellow shoppers with pepper spray so she could snag a video game, another scenario involved an exhausted Target worker accidentally driving her car into a canal after working the Black Friday midnight shift.
Arthur Morgan III, N.J. Dad, Arrested In Death Of Girl Tossed In Creek
LOS ANGELES — A New Jersey man suspected of killing his 2-year-old daughter by tossing her into a creek while she was still strapped in her car seat has been captured in California.
The U.S. Marshals Service in San Diego confirmed that 27-year-old Arthur Morgan III was arrested Tuesday afternoon.
Steve Jurman, the office's supervising deputy, said Morgan was captured at a home in San Diego around 4:30 p.m. PST.
Jurman said his office got a tip from New Jersey authorities that Morgan might be at the home, and surveillance was conducted there for most of the day. Morgan was then spotted on the home's back porch and, after a brief period where it appeared he might try to flee, Morgan was captured without incident.
He was taken to the San Diego County jail, where he will remain pending extradition proceedings. He could not be immediately reached for comment.
Monmouth County, N.J., prosecutor Peter E. Warshaw Jr. issued a statement Tuesday night confirming the arrest and thanking the U.S. Marshals Service and other law enforcement authorities that were involved in the search for Morgan, who also faces charges of child endangerment and interfering with custody in neighboring Ocean County.
Morgan was the subject of a nationwide manhunt and had been featured on the website of "America's Most Wanted."
He is charged with the murder of Tierra Morgan-Glover on Nov. 21. Her body was found partially submerged in a creek near a roadway overpass in Shark River Park in Wall Township, N.J., about 20 miles north of her Lakehurst home. Her cause of death was listed as "homicidal violence, including submersion in water."
The FBI and the U.S. Marshals office were among several agencies searching for Tierra's father, who was last seen on a train station platform in Asbury Park, N.J., not far from the park where his daughter's body would later be discovered.
The girl's mother, Imani Benton, called police after Morgan failed to return the child from a court-ordered visit. She learned of his arrest when she arrived at a friend's home on Tuesday night and heard people cheering.
Everybody was outside yelling and screaming – they were like, `They got him. They got him,'" Benton told the Asbury Park Press of Neptune. "I couldn't get out of the car. I just had to sit and let the tears fall for a minute."
Benton said she was hoping that justice would be served.
"I hope that my story and my situation can prevent another mother going through what I have to go through," Benton said. "It doesn't matter what a person does in the streets, you never know what they are going through behind closed doors."
At least 13 law enforcement agencies in and around New Jersey participated in the search for Morgan, covering airports, train stations, bus depots, and highway bridges and tunnels. He had an apartment in Eatontown, N.J. but had been staying on and off with a friend in Ocean Township, N.J., adjacent to Asbury Park.
An obituary prepared by the church at which her funeral was held gave the child's full name as Tierra La'Shae Camaya Morgan-Glover, "a bright-eyed little girl with a warm smile." Clergy there said Tierra quickly became known as "the church baby" because her radiant smile and warm personality were so noticeable to anyone who attended services there.
They said she enjoyed singing, loved mathematics, and was a quick learner.

burger king changes its fries
(Reuters) - Burger King Corp, the second largest hamburger chain, has changed its french fry recipe for the first time since 1998 as competition from upstarts and traditional fast-food rivals mounts.
Burger King said it made the new fries thicker, reduced sodium and added a coating that makes them crisper and keeps them hotter longer.
The fries, now a bit wider in diameter than a No. 2 pencil, will be available in its more than 7,000 North American Burger King restaurants by December 5. Prices remain the same.
"We're always trying to have the best menu possible. French fries are a big seller for us and we want to make sure we're always improving," said Leo Leon, vice president of innovation.
Leon said Burger King tested the new fries against other options: "This, by far, was the winner."
Burger King's move comes a little over a year after rival Wendy's introduced thinner "natural cut" fries that leave on some skin and are sprinkled with sea salt.
McDonald's Corp's french fries often take the top spot in customer surveys, but independents like Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Smashburger and In-N-Out Burger have been dialing up the pressure.
"The competition to have good quality french fries is heating up," said Darren Tristano, executive vice president at consulting firm Technomic, who recently tried the new Burger King fries.
"Making them thicker certainly makes them easier to eat, and since many of them are consumed in the car with one hand on the steering wheel, that's probably not a bad idea," Tristano said.
Burger King said the new fries have 20 percent less sodium than their predecessors.
The smallest, $1 portion has 330 mg of sodium and 240 calories. The fries are cooked in trans fat-free vegetable oil and do not contain animal products, Burger King said.
On December 16 Burger King is promoting its new fries by giving away $1 "value" portions for free. The new fries will be available outside the United States in 2012.
The trend in french fries is toward more "natural" offerings. That includes fries that are or appear to be made from fresh-cut potatoes and topped with "artisan" toppings like sea salt.
"The term natural seems to resonate (with diners) even though there isn't a great definition of natural," Tristano said.
In-N-Out cuts its french fries in its restaurants every day and cooks them in cholesterol-free vegetable oil.
Five Guys cooks its fries in peanut oil and gives customers the option of having them "cajun style."
Smashburger seasons its regular fries with sea salt. It also offers fries made from potatoes or sweet potatoes that are "toasted with rosemary, olive oil and garlic."
McDonald's lately has attempted to reinforce its position as the top french fry seller by promoting its fries, Tristano said.
Investment firm 3G Capital last year bought Burger King and took it private in a $3.3 billion deal. Burger King has 12,400 restaurants around the world.

Jesus Take The Wheel: 1-Year-Old Baby Shot In The Head During Oakland-Based Rapper’s Video Shoot, 7 Others Injured [Video]
This is truly sad:
This morning, a baby is clinging to life after being shot in the head Monday night in West Oakland. The one-year-old boy, named Hiram Lawrence, is one of eight people injured in the shooting. Surveillance video shows shots being fired as a crowd gathered outside of a liquor store on Willow Street, just after 6:00 in the evening. Initial reports indicated the crowd was filming a music video for the Oakland-based rapper, Kafani.
NBC Bay Area spoke to the rapper on the phone early Friday morning. Kafani says the crowd had gathered outside the liquor store to film a music video, but he was not involved, nor present, during the filming. The rapper tells us Hiram Lawrence is his cousin’s son. Kafani says his cousin, “had his son in his hands, and somebody started shooting … I think the bullet that hit him in the hand is what hit his son in the head.” Kafani tells NBC Bay Area the little boy went through surgery overnight at Children’s Hospital in Oakland to relieve swelling in his brain.
As for the other victims, their conditions are unknown – though police say their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Investigators are trying to find several possible shooters.
We hope little Hiram will make it through…

Police officers shot and killed a woman in an Atlanta home when she didn’t comply with orders to stop stabbing her young daughter, who also died, authorities said Monday.
Police and fire rescue personnel were called to the home Monday afternoon and were told an 8-year-old boy had been assaulted by his mother and thrown out a window, said an Atlanta Police spokesman, Maj. Keith Meadows.
Meadows said witnesses told officers the mother was alone inside the home with her young daughter. He said officers entered the house and found the mother sitting in a chair, stabbing the child.
Two officers drew their service weapons and ordered the woman to drop a knife, firing at her when she did not comply, Meadows said. He said between 10 and 16 shots were fired.
Police spokesman Carlos Campos said the stabbing victim was dead at the scene, while the 8-year-old boy was hospitalized in stable condition with apparently minor injuries. Police said they did not know if the daughter had been struck by a bullet, and did not know a motive for the attacks on the children.
Campos said the officers involved in the shooting will be placed on a routine administrative leave during the investigation.
Neighbor Lela Smith told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the family had lived in the home about a year and a half. She said the child who died was nearly 5 years old.
The mother’s name was not immediately released.
R.I.P to that precious baby. We are praying for that little boy too, we hope that he has a kind relative who can take him into their loving home cuz it sounds like he’s been through some stuff

Christopher Valdez's Mother, Her Boyfriend Charged In 4-Year-Old Boy's Beating Death
The mother of Christopher Valdez, the 4-year-old boy killed on his birthday last Friday in Chicago, has been charged alongside her boyfriend in her son's death.
Crystal Valdez, 28, was charged with the concealment of a homicidal death and endangering the life of a child, while her live-in boyfriend Cesar Ruiz, 34, was charged with first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death and for having a suspended drivers license, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Christopher was found dead by police when they arrived at Valdez and Ruiz's home on the 5100 block of South Trumbull Avenue in Chicago about 2:10 p.m. Friday. The boy was found to have died from multiple blunt force trauma and his death was ruled a child abuse homicide Saturday.
Police were alerted to Christopher's death when he was discovered by his aunt and her husband, who had come to investigate after a neighbor told them that Christopher was sporting a black eye when he attended Thanksgiving at their home the previous day, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Christopher was found with his bruises covered in makeup concealer, according to the Sun-Times. Christopher's family pointed out to the paper that the boy's mother had been convicted on Oct. 21 of domestic battery. An Illinois Department of Children and Family Services investigation had previously shown that she had neglected her child. Christopher had three other siblings.
Steven Valdez, the boy's great uncle, previously described Ruiz, his niece's boyfriend, as anti-social and violent, NBC Chicago reported. He said that two weeks before the boy's death, Ruiz beat a dog severely after it relieved itself in his home.
Both Christopher's mother and Ruiz are slated to appear in bond court Monday
Bryant Gumbel Flips Out At Prince In Vintage 'Today' Clip (VIDEO)
Bryant Gumbel is a crazy, fanatical Prince fan. How do we know? Compelling and conclusive video evidence, that's how!
The video comes from Gumbel's last day as a co-host of the "Today" show. As is that program's wont, there were acres of surprise guests, tears and testimonials from high-powered figures. (You can read this article for a fuller picture).
The biggest surprise guest? The musical giant now known as Prince who, back in 1997, was calling himself The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. (As Katie Couric says in the video, "The Artist is here!") Prince comes out looking exactly like Gumbel, right down to the glasses, and Gumbel just flips out. It's like when Oprah was surprised by Mary Tyler Moore and lost it completely.
We here at HuffPost Media consider ourselves to be students of history, and so we're honored to include this video in our occasional series "A Look Back."
Then Prince proceeds to play a medley, complete with personalized lyrics for Gumbel, and Gumbel sits on the couch and is singing along and it's clearly one of the top four moments of his life. Couric even leans in to say something to him and it's like he can barely register her presence. Also: Matt Lauer has hair! It's really another world.
Below, see a gallery of the insanely happy faces Gumbel made on that fateful day.
A word about how we discovered this video: we didn't! The folk at HuffPost Comedy alerted us to its existence. (They also told us that Gumbel once called one of their dogs "gorgeous.")
Christophe Champenois Reportedly Murders Son In Washing Machine
A man in France has been charged with murdering his son by shoving him in a washing machine and turning it on, AFP reports.
According to the Daily Mail, the incident was punishment for the child's behavior. The 3-year-old boy, Bastien, reportedly threw a classmate's drawing in a toilet at nursery school.
However, this wasn't the first time the child had been punished as such.
The French newspaper Le Parisien reports (translated from French):
Maud, Bastien's five-year-old sister, told Fidelio, the husband of a neighbor, that it wasn't the first time that her father put the little boy in the machine. Sometimes, he locked his son inside for two hours to punish him.
According to Le Parisien, the boy's grandmother called Bastien an "unwanted child." She reported that on the day of his birth, the boy's father, Christophe, was "drinking with his friends and told me he didn't want the child."
The toddler died of head injuries, the Daily Mail reports.
Police charged Bastien's father with "murder of a minor" in Meaux, France, according to AFP. Sky News quoted a local police spokesperson as saying, "The man's wife has also been arrested for non-assistance of a person in danger."

Top Your Supplement List With Omega 3… So Says Monique Cash!
I’m just going to dive into this weeks subject…
If you are not taking fish oil supplements, no matter your age, ethnic background, gender or status. RUN to your nearest health food store and get some. Scientific research continues to support the conclusion that the Omega 3 essential fatty acids are extremely important to our good health.
Follow me as I provide you with some brief information on Omega 3 essential fatty acids, their benefits and how to choose the right brand for you.
There are now health experts who consider that an inadequate supply of the Omega 3 fatty acids in our diet is one of the most serious health issues confronting our generation. Most young adults have the mentality that vitamins and supplements should only be consumed by middle to late age adults. WRONG!!! The key to the best optimal health is PREVENTION so start early and fish oil supplements should be at the top of your list.
There are such things as “good fats” low triglycerides and “bad fats” high triglycerides that our bodies consume; its pretty obvious which ones are better for us. Omega 3 fatty acids consist of DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and we should have an adequate amount of both in our body. There is now solid research supporting the higher benefits of a higher intake of the Omega 3 fats and deficiency can increase our risk of stroke and heart attack and even death. It is now well known that DHA, the most important of the Omegas, is the most prevalent fat in our brain, and that an adequate supply may well influence the development of cognitive abilities in infants as well as improve the memory for adults young and older. DHA is also particularly prevalent in the retina of the eye and research shows that an adequate supply of DHA in the diet helps with the development of childhood vision as well as helps protect the elderly from the most common causes of blindness.
As a whole, fish oils also have beneficial effects on cancer, lupus, depression, arthritis, skin beauty, psoriasis, pregnancy, anti-inflammatory and immune health. Fish do not actually produce Omega 3 fatty acids on its own, but instead accumulate them by consuming microalgae or prey fish like sharks and swordfish that have accumulated omega 3 fatty acids. Since the average person does not consume enough fish in their weeklh diets, daily intake of fish oil supplements are imperative to our health. When deciding which fish oil supplements to purchase take into consideration the amount of DHA/EPA in each capsule as well as the quality and cleanliness of the brand. Be sure that of the two DHA has the highest content of the capsule. There should be a minimum of 280 mg of DHA in one capsule. Therefore, never choose by price, just be sure that there is at least 2 1/2 times more DHA than EPA in each dosage. There is growing evidence that fish are, in many cases, contaminated with various industrial toxins such as Mercury, dioxane and PCBs. It wuld be best to use supplements whose fish were “wild caught”. I also would not suggest using manufactured fish oils, which you will see in most of the brands at GNC.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! Most companies guarantee extra processes that their fish go through to ensure its quality and that the oils are not rancid. So don’t just grab the cheapest supplements on the shelf. Its your health that is at stake, and you need to make sure you are doing your body good.
I hope you enjoyed your turkey dinners and vacation. Remember: when you DO better you FEEL better.

Jesus Take The Wheel: New York Woman Stabbed To Death By Her Son Multiple Times In Front Of Her Grandchildren!!
A deranged man stabbed his mother to death Sunday inside her Brooklyn apartment as her two grandchildren watched in horror, police sources said.
The 20-year-old man stabbed his 47-year-old mother repeatedly — including once in her eye — in front of a 5-year-old boy and 1-year-old girl inside her flat on Legion St. in Brownsville, cops said.
Neighbors called for help about 6 p.m., after they heard Churminline Ward’s blood-curdling screams for help, witnesses said.
“My son is trying to hurt me!” one neighbor recalled hearing the woman yell. “I heard the mother moaning.”
Soon after, her half-naked son emerged from the second-floor apartment.
“He came down just wearing his boxers,” said the neighbor, who did not want to be identified. “He had blood [on\] his boxers. . . . I knew he had done something bad.
R.I.P. to Churminline Ward, the sick son-of-a-beyotch that stabbed her probably traumatized those small children for life.
What Is Wrong With This Picture?? Georgia Business Refuses To Hire Until Obama’s Out Of The Office
A Georgia businessman has an ultimatum for America: Fire President Obama, or he will not hire any more workers. Bill Looman, owner of U.S. Cranes LLC, said he is fed up with the bad economy and D.C. politicians who do nothing to solve the problem. So until there is a change of leadership, his company trucks will bear the message: “New Company Policy: We Are Not Hiring Until Obama Is Gone.”
“The message that I tried to put in there is that I cannot afford it,” Looman told ABC News. “I just cannot afford to hire anybody right now.” Looman, whose company operates cranes at construction sites, said he has had to lay off three of his nine employees because of the bad economy. He said overregulation and the cost of complying with federal mandates has caused many of his customers to shut their doors.
“The buck stops [at Obama],” he said. “He is the leader of this nation and he needs to assume that postion and understand it is his fault, ultimately.” Although the signs went up about six months ago, photos of the “new company policy” went viral on the internet Monday, WXIA-TV first reported. “I didn’t intend for it to get to this level,” Looman said. “Maybe it will put a new perspective on what’s happening out here to middle America.”
The reaction – partially positive but mostly negative – was so overwhelming that Looman said he had to temporarily shut down his website and disconnect his phone lines. “Verbally there were a lot of threats,” he said. ”People were running my technicians off the road. They were focused on trying to make that message something more than it was.”
“To all my liberal friends … thank you for the two new customers that came on board today because you idiots are attacking me,” Looman wrote. “One new customer states … ’You got nerve, so you got my business.’ I may have to hire after all.” While the barrage of criticism did not hit until this week, the backlash began shortly after the photos were first posted. Looman said he got an unexpected visit from the Secret Service after someone reported to the FBI that he was a possible threat to national security. “They gave me the typical interview to see if I was a threat,” Looman said. “We actually had a good meeting and when they left, they were under the impression that they wasted their time.”
With unemployment still stuck at around 9 percent, where it has been for more than two years, U.S. Crane LLC is not the only business that feels the drag of a sluggishly recovering economy. The GDP grew a mere 2 percent over the past quarter, even less than the 2.5 percent growth than the Bureau of Economic Analysis had originally estimated.
Thoughts on this man’s gesture?? Out of pocket or right on point??

JoJo Simmons Was KIDNAPPED By Goons!! (He Was ABDUCTED Inside A Houston Skrip Club)
November 28, 2011: It may well be time for an INTERVENTION in the life of troubled reality star JoJo Simmons. He's been caught in one controversy after ANOTHER in recent weeks.
His latest scandal occurred last night, when JoJo was ABDUCTED by street dudes - and forced to pay the HOOD TAX before being released.
Here's what we know, JoJo was partying with a bunch of celebrity friends, including Quincy Combs and popular rapper Hazel E, at a popular HOUSTON strip club. All of his friends left the club at around 3 AM, but JoJo stayed - by HIMSELF. (Bad Move)
When JoJo attempted to leave, approximately an hour later, he was approached by a group of GOONS who took him into a back room and HELD HIM THERE AGAINST HIS WILL. The men claimed that JoJo OWED THEM MONEY, but its not clear WHY or HOW, since JoJo had NEVER met any of them.
JoJo was smart though, and he paid his HOOD TAX, (his chain??) and was allowed to leave. MediaTakeOut.com is told that JoJo was MANHANDLED, and was TOUCHED UP a little, but suffered no serious DAMAGE. We were also told that JoJo has no plans of "snitching" to the police.
This dude is really OUT OF CONTROL. It's obvious that this RAP ain't for the young dude. He needs to take his BEHIND back to church with his dad .. . . and make that work for him.

Kissing contest? Did a New York pastor cross-the-line?
Pastor Maurice Johnson of the Winners Church in Queens delivers the sexiest Sunday sermon in town, preaching on how to keep romance alive in marriage — and then asking congregants to make out in a passionate, public kissing contest during the service.
The parishioners with the most passion — and tongue-wagging — win $50 to spend on date night.
“Your bedroom and your love life are fires that must be nurtured and fought for,” Johnson preaches in a booming voice that reverberates through the makeshift church in the PS 38 gym in Rosedale, Queens.

HOLY SMOOCH: Pastor Maurice Johnson actively encourages his flock to be amorous, and they are making out just fine.

“Use the power of touch to ignite passion in your marriage,” Johnson tells his giggling, nondenominational congregation of 75.
He adds, “You should be visually stimulated for your husband or your wife. It is your biblical responsibility to look good for your spouse.”
Johnson then calls upon four married couples to rise and approach the pulpit.
As a keyboardist and a drummer ooze R&B tunes such as “I Like It” by DeBarge, the couples demonstrate their passion — by locking lips, hips and tongues for a seemingly endless five minutes.
When they come up for air, the rest of the churchgoers choose a winner by clapping for the most amorous couple.
Johnson, 39, told The Post he chose to deliver a series of sermons, titled “The Power and Pleasure of Romance,” to underscore the importance of marriage in the African-American community.
“Some people were like, ‘It seems strange to do at church,’ ” he said, “but they thought it was very creative.”
Keeping a romantic partnership ticking, he said, depends on showering your spouse with physical affection.
“God created a desire for love and romance,” Johnson said.
The face-sucking had some churchgoers blushing.
“You see kissing in all kinds of contexts, but you don’t necessarily see it in a marriage context,” said Frantz Cochy, 39, who won the contest when he seemed to forget that he was in front of a crowded room and hungrily embraced his wife of 13 years, Makeetah, 36.
“I wasn’t embarrassed, but I guess I felt a little awkward,” he said.
Olaiya Ayani, 33, had to cajole his wife, Ayanna, to stand up and play tonsil hockey in front of the packed room. But once on stage, the couple wrapped their arms around each other and didn’t hold back.
“My father and my mother never showed affection in public,” said Ayani, who met his wife two years ago on Craigslist. “I told myself, ‘I’m going to be more affectionate to my wife.’ ”
The pastor said he encourages married couples to drop their guard and experiment with each other in public.
“Any society that celebrates marriage, romance and love is going to be a free society,” Johnson said. “Public displays of affection aren’t wrong. Adam and Eve were naked, and they were not ashamed.”
The bachelor pastor says he’ll practice what he preaches next year, when he expects to marry.

RELIGIOUS GURU/CRIMINAL MASTERMIND" (ASSASSIN, TRAFFICKING, MOLESTATION)
For over 25 years, Kirtananda Swami Bhaktipada attracted thousands of followers (Hare Krishna's) around the world, filled his coffers with millions and millions of dollars and built a glorious golden palace that would make kings jealous.
While running his not-so-holy realm, the homosexual guru masterminded at least two murders and the sexual molestation of children. He financed his dynasty by selling black market souvenirs, making international drug deals and turning the palace grounds into a tourist attraction, dubbed by followers as "the spiritual Disneyland."
Beginning in the mid-80's, Hare Krishna officials as well as local, state and federal investigators uncovered trouble in paradise, which led Krishna leaders to kick the megalomaniac swami out of the faith. The swami was linked to molesting two boys at the ashram. And when a mother reported that her son had been molested, he told her: "You stupid woman! Sex is sex. How much have you had?"
Over just four years, say investigators, the swami's illegal schemes raised more than $10.5 million. Some of the fortune came from drug trafficking, cocaine from Colombia and hash oil from Afghanistan.
When two commune members threatened to blow the whistle on the swami, he recruited a Krishna Vietnam veteran to kill them both. The assassin fatally shot one man in the head twice. He shot the second victim, then stabbed him with a screwdriver and beat him with a hammer. The assassin was convicted of both murders. And a cohort in one homicide testified against the killer in return for pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
After years of legal wrangling, the swami pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering, which included the black market scams and the murders. He was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, served 12, and settled in New York City until March, when he joined a commune of his remaining followers in India.
On October 24th, he passed away at age 74.

This type of 'open air sex market' atmosphere is where Jay Johnson murdered two men. He would cruise them, take them to a secluded area and shoot them. One of the men was a former U.S. Senator. These crimes took place in Minneapolis.
Backstory:
From the documentary Licensed To Kill: Jay Johnson is the racially mixed son of a teacher at a prominent Christian college in Minneapolis. Johnson was conflicted not only about his homosexual feelings, but his religious commitment. His parents' teaching and that of the churches generally is that homosexual carnal knowledge is a sin. Johnson believed this and even still seems to believe it, but somehow felt that he could atone for his sin by murdering those he lured—at least as much as they lured him—into what he considered grave falls.
tall black transsexual
TH IN 3'S" (TRANSSEXUAL CALL GIRL ON MILAN-PARIS-LONDON CIRCUIT)
The sky was unusually bright that night, the air humid and sultry, embracing the light. Amanda Milan had pulled a trick for an escort agency, then stopped by Times Square to join an early-morning coffee klatch with a group of transsexuals who sometimes gathered at McDonald's on Eighth Avenue and 43rd Street to trade laments over Styrofoam cups.
Amanda was a tall black transsexual, with a long hair fall that masked the broad cut of her chin and a welcoming smile dabbed with glossy red lipstick. She had ample breasts (with the help of D-cup implants), and much of the time she could "pass" as a woman. But around the Port Authority, people recognized "the girls" who hung out by the Duane Reade drugstore, and Amanda was something of a celebrity in that circle.
Amanda kissed her friends goodbye at about 4 a.m. and then crossed Eighth Avenue, hoping to catch a cab in front of the bus terminal. Her friends watched her go, and continued to watch as a man approached her.
Dwayne McCuller, a 20-year-old black man from the Bronx, had been standing on the street corner for at least an hour, witnesses said. Maybe his plans for the night had fallen through. Maybe he was bored. And maybe, when he saw Amanda pass by, frustration began to swell in his throat. He said something to Amanda that her friends couldn't hear because of the street noise.
Then one of her friends heard him yell at Amanda, "Get your fucking drag queen ass away from me." Someone else heard him say, "I know what you have between your legs."
Amanda was the kind of person who stood up to thugs and people who hurled insults, said friends. If a guy was looking at her funny, she might walk up to him and say, "Do you have a problem?" She wasn't going to stand there and be degraded. Someone said they heard her challenge him to fisticuffs: "I'm a man too, you want to fight?" Or maybe: "Put up your wife beaters and fight me like a man."
No one can confirm the exact words exchanged at the beginning of the scuffle, but the event unfolded like this, according to later police reports:
"I'll shoot you," McCuller allegedly said, and he may have then backed away. "I have a gun. I ought to punch you in the face and hit you."
Amanda began to walk away, too. Eugene Celestine, a 26-year old security guard from Queens, N.Y., whom Amanda's friends say they had seen around the Port Authority, piped up. "Yo, I got a knife," he said, according to police reports. "Give it to me," McCuller responded.
Amanda was now halfway across the street. McCuller grabbed the knife from Celestine's hand and ran after her. Her friends, still across the avenue, screamed to Amanda, trying to warn her. But soon he was upon her. As she reached the corner of 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, he plunged the knife into her throat. Amanda fell to the ground in front of the Duane Reade, where she began to bleed to death.
A young Puerto Rican man from the Bronx took off his shirt and wrapped it around Amanda's neck to stop the bleeding. He rocked her in his arms, saying, "Baby, don't leave us" as others stood and watched. The police arrived on the scene at 4:20 a.m. and rushed Amanda to St. Vincent's Hospital in Chelsea, where she was pronounced dead on June 20, 2000, at 10 minutes before 5 a.m.
Amanda Milan, who was 25 when she was killed, was born Damon Lee Dyer, and grew up as a boy in Chicago. She came out as a transsexual about eight years ago, said friends.
For the past several years, Amanda lived in an apartment at Central Park West and 103rd Street with her dog, Ashley, a Pomeranian. She also traveled quite a bit — to Milan and Paris and London — where she worked as a high-class escort, according to her closest friends, and hung with a fashionable crowd.
"We had other friends who were transsexuals, but models, just one notch from superstardom," said Patra, a Jamaican transsexual who lived in Amanda's building on 103rd Street and says she spent a great deal of time with her. "There was Portia, who married a German count, and other girls who were modeling with Naomi and Cindy Crawford. We're not talking about average-looking girls; we're talking about bombshell beauties. Amanda was often described as a full-figured Beverly Johnson look-alike."
Amanda's two closest friends were Kim, a young Puerto Rican transsexual who worked at Show World, and Simone, an African-American transsexual who worked for a time at Screw magazine. The three were as thick as thieves for about 10 years, said friends and often traveled overseas. Then, two years ago, Kim went to England and then to Australia, where she was found at the bottom of a cliff, her body mangled. The medical examiner identified the body by the serial number on her breast implants, said Patra.
About six months later, Simone left town with a boyfriend who had invited her to live with him in San Francisco. But less than a month after she departed, word arrived in New York that she too was found dead, thrown from a fifth-story window.
Amanda was devastated by the losses, said Patra. And she began to fear for her own life because, she would say, "things happen in threes." Six months after Simone's murder, Amanda was dead too.

Impersonators-Murdered Across The Country, Coincidence?
3 Beyonce (Female) Impersonators-Murdered Across The Country, Coincidence?
Eric Lee, 21, (a Beyonce Impersonator) was stabbed repeatedly at an apartment complex in New Orleans. Police found Lee’s slashed body inside a first-floor apartment. Witnesses say they heard Lee arguing heatedly with a group of women before the time of the murder. While police have not announced a suspected motive for the killing, the MO fits a transphobic hate crime pattern. Residents who knew her say that Lee, who was in transition from male to female, often dressed in women’s clothing, and drew ridicule from the neighborhood because of it. An unidentified source told the Times-Picayune that Lee “dressed to the nines.” Carl Adams, who claimed that he did not know the victim well, told reporters that he had often heard Lee arguing with neighbors. ”Probably because they made fun of him,” he said.
In recent years, other trans and non-gender conforming African Americans who have identified with Beyonce have died at the hands of phobic killers.
Simmie Lewis Williams, Jr., 17, who also called himself “Beyoncé,” died from gunshot wounds in 2007 in the 1000 block of Sistrunk Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Adolphus “Beyoncé” Simmons, 18, a talented female impersonator from North Charleston, South Carolina, similarly died outside his apartment while carrying out the trash to a bin, also in 2007.

new immagration jim crow law
There really does appear to be a lot of momentum for repealing Alabama's draconian new immigration law, now that they've seen and felt the economic and social consequences:
Thousands gathered outside the historic 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama yesterday to demand the repeal of the state’s harsh anti-immigration law, HB 56. Religious, community and civil rights leaders, as well as a special Congressional delegation, urged state legislators to bring an end to Alabama’s immigration law—a law which continues to slow state businesses, separate families and drive immigrants from the state. The Congressional delegation also held an ad hoc hearing at Birmingham City Hall to hear how the controversial law is effecting state residents, especially the Latino and immigrant communities where, according to Rep. Luis Gutierrez, “the feeling of danger and despair is palpable.” One Congressional member, Rep. Al Green of Texas, commented that the law “deserves to be placed on the trash heap of history.”
During yesterday’s hearing, Birmingham Mayor William Bell told 11 Congressional members that Alabama’s law “smacks of apartheid and Jim Crow laws,” places financial burdens on cities and could force police officers to employ racial profiling. Echoing the mayor’s economic concerns, Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona forewarned that much like Arizona’s SB1070, Alabama’s immigration law “is going to hurt the economy and the social fabric of the state.”
Many are concerned that the law is already jeopardizing foreign investments in the state. Just this week, Alabama police arrested a Mercedes-Benz executive for failure to produce proper documentation. Normally he would have just been issued a ticket, but since the passage of HB 56, police are now required to pursue those suspected of being in the country unlawfully. According to a Mercedes spokeswoman, the Mercedes-Benz executive was visiting from Germany to propose new business plans in Alabama. The German car manufacturer—which has a plant near Tuscaloosa—is Alabama’s largest international trading partner, generating more than 40,000 jobs for the state and $6.8 billion in economic output.
David Bronner, chief executive of the Retirement Systems of Alabama, worries that the law will prevent potential foreign businesses from investing in the state. Currently, there are more than 400 foreign-based businesses in Alabama, hailing from 30 countries. “Sometimes we forget in Alabama that when we label a group as a problem and when we paint the brush so broadly, we’ve included most of the world,” Bronner said.
Perverts: 47-Year-Old Man Arrested For Viewing Child “Videos” On Delta Flight
BOSTON -- Police say a man who was viewing child pornography on a domestic airline flight from Salt Lake City to Boston has been arrested.
Massachusetts State Police say 47-year-old Grant Smith was sitting in first class Saturday afternoon when a fellow passenger saw the pornographic images on Smith's laptop and alerted the flight crew.
When the Delta flight landed at Boston Logan International Airport at 4:12 p.m., troopers interviewed Smith and subsequently arrested him.
He has been charged with possession of child pornography, and police say additional charges could follow. His bail is set at $15,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
Smith was in police custody Saturday night and couldn't immediately be reached for comment. NBC station KSL of Salt Lake City reported that Smith is from Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

Police Release Surveillance Tape That Shows Shocking Bar Shooting
f a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video - in this case - could be worth a conviction.
The Redlands police department has released the below surveillance video from a deadly altercation outside of local bar Charlie Jewel's on Saturday night. The victim, 22-year old Kruze Kuaea, was involved in a scuffle outside of the bar in which he punched a man, immediately knocking him to the ground. Moments later, shots blasted through the air and Kuaea was shot.
According to LomaLinda Patch, Kuaea "died at 2 a.m. Another 22-year-old man was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for surgery. His condition was still unknown. A 23-year-old man was hurt but was expected to survive, said Carl Baker public information officer for Redlands Police."
KTLA reminds us how rare it is to see a murder caught on tape. Redlands police hope that by publicizing this video, someone might be able to identify the shooter and those who seemed to be affiliated with him. "It was a senseless killing," Kuaea's mother Maricia told KTLA. "He was 22-years-old. He had his whole life ahead of him."
The LA Times reports that "the gunman is described as a Latino in his early 20s. He's about 5 feet 7 and weighs about 150 pounds."

Natalie Wood Death: Lifeguard Says She Could Have Been Saved
LOS ANGELES — The lifeguard captain who helped pull Natalie Wood's body from the water nearly 30 years ago said he believes the actress could have been saved had officials begun a search for her earlier, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
Former Los Angeles County supervising rescue boat captain Roger Smith told the Times () he was alerted that Wood was missing at 5:11 a.m. on Nov. 29, 1981. That was some four hours after she went missing from a yacht off Santa Catalina Island during a Thanksgiving weekend trip with her husband Robert Wagner and actor Christopher Walken. A lifeguard boat equipped with all the gear needed to conduct a search had been moored about 100 feet away from the yacht the whole time, he said. http://lat.ms/rUJ3VZ
"Based on the condition of her body when we pulled her from the water, I believe she survived for some time in the water and was blown out to sea. She probably cried for help for hours," Smith said in an interview. "I've always believed she could have been saved. Her fingers were still pliable when she was pulled from the water, suggesting she had not been dead for hours."
The Sheriff's Department reopened the death investigation last week, saying the decision was prompted by new information detectives received about the case.
The original investigation concluded that Wood accidentally drowned when she fell into the water while tying up a loose dinghy. But exactly how long she was in the water remains a mystery.
Smith told the Times he hoped the reopening of the investigation will answer lingering questions about why lifeguards were not alerted to Wood's disappearance sooner.
The evening before the drowning, Wood, Wagner and Walken, who was then Wood's co-star in the film "Brainstorm." had dinner at Doug's Harbor Reef restaurant on the island. Later, authorities said they returned to the yacht and had drinks and Wagner and Walken got into an argument.
Later Walken went to bed, according to Wagner, who, after staying up with boat captain Dennis Davern for a while, went looking for his wife and couldn't find her on board. He then noticed that a dinghy attached to the boat – and his wife – were gone.
According to Smith, Wagner told him that Sunday morning that he had spent several hours looking for Wood and had contacted the operator of the small harbor. But Smith said he was perplexed over why it took so long to contact the lifeguards, who could have launched a full search for Wood.
Sheriff's officials have stressed that Wagner is not a suspect in Wood's death. Wagner released a statement last week saying he welcomed the new investigation into the case.

Jay Z Punks Off NBA Players @ GQ Party
GQ magazine had their 16th annual Men of the Year party last night in Los Angeles at the Chateau Marmont – and guess what? Jay Z told his security not to allow Blake Griffin, Shannon Brown, Russell Westbrook and Camelo Anthony into his section of VIP. Know why? Because team owners like Jay Z are not allowed to hang-out with the help during the NBA lockout mane.
Here’s what an insider had to say:
“So all the athletes were clamoring to talk to Jay-Z in his private section, even Melo, but because of the lockout, Jay had to turn them all down. He refused to let any of them thru, and also warned his security to watch out because of his NBA ownership, he wasn’t allowed to fraternize with them.”
Is Jay Z a business man or an @#$ ? An NBA player answered that question for us by saying “He’s like a mascot, %$@#& Jay Z” Don’t believe me? Ask Andre Iguodala.

US Supreme Court Could Soon Allow Police To Monitor the Movements of Smartphone Users Without a Warrant
Smartphones are great. They do a bunch of stuff like browsing the web, managing bank accounts and throwing angry birds at things. They can also do another thing that is not so cool: Constantly monitor your movements at any given time. Sure, location services can still be turned off on smartphones but most people don’t bother because, for one, they want to be able to find their expensive phone if they ever lose it.
Lawmakers are currently taking advantage of these powerful devices along with a general “relaxed” attitude towards privacy by creating extremely intrusive laws. The US Supreme Court could soon allow police to monitor the movements of US mobile phone users without a warrant. Some might say “Nothing to hide, nothing to fear”. Yes…that’s what they said when dictatorial police states where instated in the 20th century. What these people also forget is that those kinds of laws go against the 4th Amendment. But the US Constitution does not seem to get the respect it deserves these days…
Here’s a BBC article about smartphones and laws permitting monitoring.
How much privacy can smartphone owners expect?
The US Supreme Court could soon allow police to monitor the movements of US mobile phone users without a warrant. Now that most of us carry sophisticated tracking devices in our pockets, how much privacy do we have a right to expect?
Millions of us happily invade our own privacy every day on Twitter and Facebook, sharing personal details with the world and broadcasting our location in a way previous generations would have found bizarre.
Even those who shy away from social media and new technology in general are not immune. The most basic mobile phones are in constant contact with the nearest mast, sending information about the whereabouts of their users to phone companies, who can later hand that data over to the police, if requested.
At the other end of the spectrum, in the world of smartphones, privacy is becoming an increasingly outdated concept, argues technology writer Sam Biddle. What might once have been considered “creepy” and invasive is becoming normal.
“That line of creepiness is there, but it’s eroding quickly because, frankly, we are just getting used to it,” says Mr Biddle, a staff writer for Gizmodo.com.
“Something like (smartphone app) Foursquare, something like Find My Friends, these things all would have sounded like something from 1984. Now they are fun and free.
“So I think whatever line there once was is receding very quickly.”
He adds: “The excitement and the novelty of it blinds us to the fact that is a little weird and maybe, in terms of privacy rights, a little ominous.”
For the smartphone customer “it’s a trade-off, in terms of privacy versus service,” he says. For the mobile phone company “following you around is just part of the service”.
‘Legitimate expectation’
There are signs that governments and law enforcement agencies around the world are taking advantage of this increasingly relaxed attitude towards privacy to step up surveillance of citizens.
The case currently before the Supreme Court, US vs Jones, hinges on whether police officers should be allowed to plant GPS tracking devices on suspects’ cars without a warrant.
Nightclub owner and suspected drug smuggler Antoine Jones had such a device attached to his vehicle for 28 days so officers could follow his movements in order to build up a case against him.
His legal team argued at a Supreme Court hearing earlier this month that his Fourth Amendment rights, which are meant to protect US citizens from invasive searches, were violated.
Lawyers for the Obama administration argued that Jones did not have a “legitimate expectation of privacy” – the standard legal test in the US for the past 45 years – because his car was in a public place.
Attaching a tracking device to it was no different to tailing him, which has always been legal, the government argued.
If the Supreme Court agrees, it could open the door to mass unwarranted surveillance of suspects using GPS bugs, civil liberties campaigners have warned.
Open to abuse?
But law enforcement officers no longer have to physically plant a bug on a suspect’s car or person. In the US, they are increasingly using mobile phone tracking software.
“Police officers can sit in the comfort of their own stations and use this technology to watch not just one person, but many people, over long periods of time,” says Catherine Crump, an attorney for American Civil Liberties Union.
This is far more invasive than traditional surveillance, she argues.
“GPS tracking can actually be quite revealing about who a person is and what they value. It can show where a person goes to church, whether they are in therapy, whether they are an outpatient at a medical clinic, whether they go to a gun range.”
Without police officers being forced to go before a court to obtain a “probable cause” warrant, the technology is wide open to abuse, the ACLU argues, and it is hoping that the Supreme Court will ban all warrantless surveillance when they deliver their verdict in the Jones case.
“I don’t think you have to be a card carrying member of the ACLU to be concerned about a world in which every citizen of the United States can be tracked on the whim of a curious police officer, for any reason, or no reason at all,” says Ms Crump.
But police and prosecutors tend to take a different view.
“If it is a legitimate law enforcement need and there is no time to get a warrant there should be occasions when you can use a tracking device,” says Ed Marsico, district attorney for Dauphin County, in Pennsylvania.
Metropolitan police
And the same goes for mobile phone tracking, he says, arguing that there is little practical difference between a mobile phone company knowing your location and the local police.
“Most of us have cell phones now. Most of them have some kind of GPS tracking within them, so Verizon or AT&T already know where you are,” Mr Marsico tells BBC News.
If the Supreme Court rules against the government it could seriously damage the ability of police officers to carry out undercover surveillance of suspected major criminals, he argues.
“Police are not out to put tracking devices on every single car. They are using it sparingly to further legitimate investigations.
“Technology has changed. The criminals are using technology to stay one step ahead of us, so we would like to use some technology to get ahead of them.”
In the UK, the availability of cheap GPS devices, and a mistaken belief that it was permitted under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, led to covert tracking being used by public authorities, including local councils “without properly considering the application of the legislation,” according to watchdog the Surveillance Commissioners.
The government issued new guidelines in April 2010, stressing the need to gain permission from senior officers, who must be convinced it is necessary and proportionate – and not likely to fall foul of Article 8 of the Human Rights Act.
Personal permission from the home secretary is needed to intercept phone communications. Some 1,682 interception warrants were issued in 2010.
‘Not the Gestapo’
Public authorities can obtain other communications data without the home secretary’s authority, such as the time, date and location of phone calls. In 2010, 552,550 such requests were made.
The Metropolitan Police has stepped up its surveillance of social media in recent months, claiming it helped prevent this summer’s riots spreading to high-profile targets such as the 2012 Olympics site.
But the London force is also reportedly using software that masquerades as a mobile phone network, allowing it to intercept communications and gather data about users in a targeted area, such as a demonstration.
Most civil liberties campaigners do not want the police banned from using new technology and accept that telecoms companies are “not the Gestapo”, as Catherine Crump puts it.
But, argues the ACLU lawyer: “People should not have to choose between using new technology, which is becoming increasingly commonplace and hard to live without, and giving up their privacy.”
Some believe the moment when that choice has to be made has arrived.
‘Watershed moment’
Earlier this month, a US Federal Court in Virginia ordered Twitter to grant the Justice Department access to private data from the accounts of three suspected Wikileaks supporters, ruling that they had a “lessened expectation” of privacy after signing up to the micro blogging site.
Al Girardi, a defence attorney who specialises in internet and telecoms privacy, sees this, along with the Jones case, as a “watershed” moment.
“You have some very serious decisions happening which basically define you as having no expectation of privacy with your online provider and yet nobody seems to be concerned about it,” he says.
“I don’t know if it’s just the Facebook generation but it’s a surprise to me that there isn’t more resistance.”
Without a major public outcry, or some kind of “scandal” to focus the minds of politicians and telecoms executives, the erosion of privacy is likely continue unabated, argues Sam Biddle.
“Barring some kind of very radical, strong legislation, it wouldn’t surprise me if in 10 years, I know where everyone I know is at all times, in real time, constantly.
“I think it won’t even be an issue then. It will just be the status quo.”

Missing 5-year-old Ariz. girl was abused
PHOENIX (AP) — New details emerged Tuesday about the child abuse case against the mother of a missing 5-year-old Arizona girl, including allegations that the girl was kept in a bedroom closet, deprived of food and water, and beaten.
A court document detailing the allegations was released minutes after the girl's mother, Jerice Hunter, 38, had her first court appearance, during which she proclaimed her innocence. It included claims that Hunter told the girl's siblings to lie about her disappearance.
"I'd just like to be given the chance to prove my innocence," Hunter told a judge, who ordered that she be held on a $100,000 bond because of her history of child abuse and the seriousness of the charge against her.
Hunter was arrested on a felony count of child abuse Monday, more than five weeks after she reported her daughter Jhessye Shockley missing. Police said at a news conference that they received new information in the case that led to her arrest and to a second search of her apartment in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale.
Investigators declined to say what that information was, but the court document details a recent interview they conducted with Hunter's 13-year-old daughter, who was removed from the home by state Child Protective Services the day after her sister was reported missing.
The document, a probable cause statement, said the teenager recently began to talk to her foster mother about Jhessye, saying that "she was told by her mother, Jerice, to lie to police about Jhessye being missing."
Police then interviewed the teen, who told them that she did not see Jhessye the day she disappeared, reversing her previous story to authorities that she had seen the girl.
She also said that several weeks ago Hunter became angry when she returned home to find Jhessye wearing a long T-shirt while watching TV with a neighbor boy, telling the girl that she was a "ho" before taking her into a bedroom, according to the document.
The teen said she could hear her sister screaming and crying in the room, the document said.
She also told police that Hunter kept Jhessye in a bedroom closet and deprived her of food and water, and that she had seen the girl with black eyes and bruises and cuts to her face and body, according to the document.
"(She) reported that Jhessye's hair had been pulled out and described Jhessye as not looking alive and that she looked like a zombie," the document said. "(She) said that the closet where Jhessye had been looked like a grave and smelled like dead people."
The teen said that a few days before Jhessye disappeared, her mother spent the entire day cleaning the apartment and cleaning her shoes from the closet with soap and bleach. Police said they found a receipt that showed Hunter bought food and a bottle of bleach two days before she reported her daughter missing.
Hunter told police that she last saw Jhessye on Oct. 11 after she left her in her older siblings' care while she ran an errand.
At a news conference Monday, Glendale Police Sgt. Brent Coombs said authorities do not expect to find Jhessye alive, but he didn't explain why. He also said Hunter is the investigation's "No. 1 focus."
Hunter, meanwhile, has maintained her innocence, telling The Associated Press she had nothing to do with her daughter's disappearance. She also has criticized the Glendale Police Department's investigation.
"We feel that law enforcement is not active in finding Jhessye and that they're more active in persecuting me instead of finding out where she is," Hunter said last month.
State Child Protective Services removed Hunter's other children, including a newborn, from her apartment last month but declined to say why. Glendale police said they had no part in the decision to remove the children. Hunter was eight months pregnant when Jhessye disappeared.
Hunter came under scrutiny during the investigation for an October 2005 arrest with her then-husband, George Shockley, on child abuse charges in California. Hunter pleaded no contest to corporal punishment and served about four years in prison before she was released on parole in May 2010.
Hunter's oldest child, 14 at the time, told police his mother routinely beat the children. George Shockley is a convicted sex offender and is still in a California prison.
In the days after Jhessye's disappearance, more than 100 officers and volunteers searched for her in pools, garbage bins and shrubs. They interviewed and searched the homes of registered sex offenders in the area, and stopped at every door to spread news about the missing girl.
Police also cordoned off an area of a local landfill where garbage from Jhessye's neighborhood would have been taken the day of and day after her disappearance, but have not searched it.
Hunter's father, Jesse Johnson, said outside of Tuesday's court hearing that his daughter was innocent.
"It's a witch hunt," he said. "I don't believe the police got this right. They're not going to find anything."
